An interview with a nurse on the radio today got me thinking when she made this analogy.

I agree, we have to take responsibility for our own health, but at the same time, like with a car we can only look after ourselves well if we have the knowledge and tools to do so. We can't put all the blame on the individual when education, and the support isn't there for everyone.

The good news is, as long as your engine is ticking over, it's not too late to start.

I have a coach too, that sometimes surprises people, maybe because it's my job, that I shouldn't need one? I believe most of us will benefit from accountability, support, a different perspective, and cheerleader now and again ๐Ÿ†

My coach is a treasure trove of inspirational quotes and metaphors. He shared this one the other day, "discipline" never felt motivational or positive before, it worked and I'm achieving what I set out to ๐Ÿฅฐ

๐Ÿฅฐ Happy Self-Care week... and sorry it's late... I forgot!

But we all do don't we?๐Ÿ˜˜

Yesterday when the weather really changed, all I wated to do was hide under a blanket, only coming out for cheese until Spring is here. I'm not good in Winter, and could easily retreat from the world, calling it self care...but is it?

I'm afraid there's more to it, it's about working out what is genuinely good for us, not just what is easy.

๐Ÿ“ป Tuning into your body's signals, not ignoring them. What do you actually need?

๐ŸŒฒGetting outdoors, fresh air and natural light is so beneficial, though I'm with you if it's the last thing you want to do, trust me, it works ๐Ÿฅพ

๐Ÿฅ— Fuelling your body with delicious and nutritious food.

๐Ÿ’ค And if you can only do one thing; protecting and prioritising your sleep will make everything else so much easier.
