Clyde Home Physio Over 17 years experience working in the community as a Physiotherapist

10/11/2024

With less than 4 weeks to go ‘til our last big fundraising event of the year, we’re calling on all of you to help us – you always do!

Due to unforeseen circumstances, we find ourselves with unexpected availability at our fabulous Festive Ladies Lunch on Sunday 1 December. All we want to do is maximise the fundraising opportunity by filling the room, and the dance floor!

Are there any of you in our wonderful supporter's group who could tempt friends, family, colleagues, neighbours to enjoy a fun festive day with us? Or if you have been considering booking – please take this as your sign to do so!

Those who have attended in previous years know how much fun the lunch is – it truly is the perfect kick off to December. All funds raised go straight to supporting people living with epilepsy, and their families, throughout Scotland: let’s make it a special day.

As ever, we thank each and every one of you from the bottom of our hearts, you’re always by our side and come through when we need you.

Can you help us make 2024 go out with a bang for Epilepsy Scotland?

What happens during a Neurological Physiotherapy assessment?

Once we’ve made contact I like to get know and understand you as part of my thorough initial assessment I like to understand what you enjoy and the kind of person that you are, what excites you, what are your goals. What is your usual day like.

Physically I will look at your movement, your strength, mobility ( this can be from just reaching for a call button to getting out of a chair, getting in/out of bed, your walking pattern/any aids you are using, stairs), coordination, sensation, range of movement and balance.

I like to work with people to create rehabilitation programmes that they enjoy and are linked to function. I’ve often gone to visit people at home to do passive movements ( where I move your limbs) playing their favourite music or I’ve taken someone out doors to walk..somewhere they want to go. People go to the gym.. the list is endless. It’s personal to you and about what you want to achieve.

I always assess and consider safety before doing anything and discuss everything with you and will give you information/access to resources that help with things such as ‘remembering’, ‘tiredness’ (fatigue) and general lifestyle management.

Do we have any people who have had a stroke who are sitting at home and would like an online group chat …. Potentially some fun chair exercises with only the best music of course 🙂 Family members also very welcome!
Give me a follow and a thumb up if you fancy it 😊

If you or a family member has recently suffered a Stroke and you are struggling to get them home due to their mobility or they have just been discharged or about to be discharged and you would like some advise. Please give us a call today for a free no obligation chat on what we could do to help and what other services could be available

It’s a very difficult time for you all and I am more than happy to just chat.

More info on what happens when you have a Stroke/Brain injury and what rehab can help you. Whilst rehab in hospital can be quite short we have seen people recover for years after. Last week our amazing patient walked further than she had in 4 years. This is 13 years after her stroke and she continues to achieve. J you are amazing!
