It’s Been a While — Here’s What’s New!

If you’re new to this page or haven’t seen a post from me in a while, I wanted to check in and give you a quick update…

Over the past few months, I’ve been focused on growing things over at The Lodge Health & Wellness — including building a brand new outdoor training area and launching two, possibly 3 exciting new sessions:
✅ Over 50s Exercise Referral Circuits
✅ Summer Reset Classes to help you feel stronger, healthier, and back on track
✅ Pilates - Possibly coming soon.... watch this space!

At the same time, I’ve been continuing my 1:1 coaching work through Luke Collins – Health & Wellbeing Coach, helping clients improve their movement, habits, mindset, and energy.

It’s taken some time to come to terms with my own health challenges and the uncertainty around what the future might look like. But now feels like the right time to start making positive steps — and get back to doing what I enjoy most: helping people move more and move better.

I’ve spent the last few months coaching myself through it, and I’ve now got a clearer direction and renewed focus moving forward.

I'm still offering online coaching, but my main focus right now is the face-to-face work — it’s where I feel I can make the biggest impact and truly connect with the people I work with.

That said, I’ll continue to use online coaching as a way to add even more value and support for those who also train with me in person — whether that’s through habit tracking, nutrition guidance, or extra accountability between sessions.

Now that things are taking shape, I’ll be posting here more regularly again — sharing practical health tips, client wins, and coaching tools to help you thrive.

Whether you’re managing aches and pains, low energy, or just feel ready to start again. I’ve got your back.

There’s a few things that nearly broke me and I almost stopped being a PT and coach… want to know why? (Surprisingly the heart disease has little to do with it)

Imposter syndrome was one pretty big reason! Along with a HUGE business failure, it saw me leave the industry for about a year. In that time I worked on myself and my qualifications.

Back in 2013 I opened a gym, it failed, spectacularly. It saw me removed from my family home and saw me almost lose my kids. I won’t point blame, my failure was a big reason for this, along with feeling like an imposter in my own life.

It saw me move out of the industry and into retail, well, safe to stay that didn’t stick. Thankfully!

When I went back to fitness, failure hit again, after trying to be a freelance instructor for a chain gym, it broke me again and then saw my then partner ask me to leave because, well, I was a failure. I don’t blame them, they weren’t wrong. I had failed.

But, I doubled down l, moved out of the county for 2 years and worked in the private sector for a huge chain, I have to say, as much as I disliked aspects (long hours and rubbish pay) I learnt the most from this job. From being able to go into surgery and see joint replacements first hand, into working alongside physios with people post op rehab.

Then COVID, the big one that made or broke many instructors! It may have seen what I do move from a clinic and studio. But it led me to the where I do the majority of my work along side someone pretty special, my now Wife!

Along with working there I also started taking my business online and looking to build the future from there, it’s daunting as online training is very different. But I’m loving the challenge.

It would have been easy to walk away from fitness, health and coaching. But I’m glad I didn’t, not even with heart disease.

Keep going with your goals, you’re bound to fail more than once, questions is, will you keep going or give up?

I am a Level 4 Personal Trainer with specialist exercise referral qualifications, as well as a high level of qualification in Nutrition and sports therapy massage. I have a long history in the health and fitness industry, spanning over 10 years. I am CIMSPA registered and fully insured. I believe in a truly bespoke approach to each client, understanding we are all individuals and have to be approached in a differing of ways ,each training program and nutrition plan is as individual as you are. Using my knowledge in sports science and advanced training methods, ensures the most advanced results possible in the time frame given. I have taken nutrition as seriously as the training itself. Nutrition is the key to unlock the lock that are our results. Small manageable and sustainable changes give us the best chance of results.

We start with a needs analysis so, together we can asses what you feel is needed, then move onto a postural assessment to see if there are any other areas that may need attention. Once all areas have been assessed we can start with the correct treatment plan for you. This will help you feel and move better, in some cases pain free!
