I volunteer for Pegasus - Men's Wellbeing CIC and it's such a valuable resource for men in Cornwall and further afield in the country. If you are able to donate any money to allow them to continue helping men's mental health, then your money will have a huge impact on somebody's life. ❤️

Every man deserves to live.

Yet in the UK, 75% of people who die by su***de are men.

Why?

Because many men grow up hearing the same messages over and over:

Be strong.
Boys don’t cry.
Man up.
Don’t be silly — mental health isn’t real.

These words teach men to hide their emotions, suppress their struggles and face life’s challenges alone.

But silence can be deadly.

At Pegasus – Men’s Wellbeing Centre, we believe every man deserves somewhere safe to speak.

Every day, many men struggle silently with stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, and overwhelming life pressures. Too often, societal expectations tell men they should stay strong, stay quiet, and deal with problems alone.

But the reality is alarming.

In the UK, men account for around 75% of all su***des, and su***de remains one of the leading causes of death for men under 50. These statistics are a stark reminder of how important it is that men have somewhere safe to turn when they need support.

At Pegasus – Men’s Wellbeing Centre, we believe no man should have to face these struggles alone. Our services are designed specifically to support men in navigating these challenges and developing the resilience they need to rebuild their lives.

Pegasus provides a safe, confidential space where men can speak openly and receive professional counselling and emotional support. Through therapy, guidance, and compassionate care, we help men rebuild confidence, improve their mental health, and find a way forward.

Since the beginning, in 2014, Pegasus has supported more than 7,000 men, delivering tens of thousands of hours of counselling and therapeutic support.

But the demand for help continues to grow.

Every week, more men reach out asking for support. Many are in crisis. Some have nowhere else to turn.

That is why we are launching this campaign to raise £55,000 to help sustain and expand our services so that more men can access the help they need, when they need it most.

Why This Campaign Is Urgent

Demand for support is increasing rapidly, while funding for community mental health services remains extremely limited. Like many charities, Pegasus relies heavily on donations and supporters to sustain its work.

Without additional funding, our ability to continue providing accessible counselling sessions and responding to the growing number of men reaching out for help will be at risk.

Many of the men who contact Pegasus are already experiencing significant distress. When someone finally gathers the courage to ask for help, waiting weeks or months for support can feel overwhelming.

This campaign will help ensure that Pegasus can continue providing safe, professional support when men need it most.

What Men Say About Pegasus

The feedback we receive from men who access our services shows the real impact of counselling and support.

• 87% reported being very satisfied with the service overall
• 97% said they felt listened to and understood
• 91% rated their therapist’s professionalism as very satisfied
• 97% said they felt safe and respected during sessions

Many clients tell us that counselling at Pegasus has helped them find hope during some of the most difficult moments in their lives.

One client shared:

“I was in a really bad place when I started counselling. The support I received helped me start rebuilding my life.”

Another client wrote:

“The help I received has been amazing. Having someone outside my normal circle to talk to made a huge difference.”

Stories like these remind us how important it is to ensure men can access support when they need it most.

What Your Support Will Do

With your help, Pegasus can:

• Provide accessible counselling sessions for men who cannot afford private therapy
• Expand mental health services and reach more men in the community
• Support men facing crisis, trauma and emotional distress
• Reduce waiting times so men can access help when they reach out
• Continue breaking the stigma around men speaking openly about mental health

Every contribution helps ensure that men who are struggling have somewhere safe to turn.

Even small donations can make a meaningful difference:

£10 could help provide wellbeing resources for someone seeking support
£15 could contribute towards a room hire for a counselling session

£30 could contribute towards a counselling session
£50 could help fund professional mental health support for someone in need

Why This Matters

Mental health struggles affect thousands of men every year. Yet many never reach out for help because they fear judgment or believe they must cope alone.

Pegasus exists to change that.

Our mission is simple: to support and encourage men to overcome challenges, heal from trauma, and achieve their full potential.

Every man who reaches out deserves to be heard.

Help Us Reach £55,000

Your donation will help Pegasus continue providing life-changing support to men who need it most.

Together, we can create a future where every man knows he is not alone.

Every man deserves to live.

It is often only after we’ve been bruised by life that we learn to value its quieter gifts. Hardship sharpens our appreciation of ordinary peace, gentle beauty, and days that ask nothing dramatic of us. Suffering, reluctantly, can tutor us in gratitude for what once seemed dull or forgettable.

Follow us for more useful ideas, every day.

My modified mouse is bringing me joy today for my online and telephone sessions. My well-used candle still gives light and scent, even though it isn't 'insta-perfect '🤷.

I'd always wondered why I felt relaxed when in candle light or seeing the flicker and changing tones. After a quick bit of research I have learnt that the rhythm of a candle flame lowers our brain frequency to a relaxed alpha state. It also takes us to a primal sense of peace and safety. Tapping into our evolutionary psychology; being with our tribe, it meant warmth, safety and community in the dark.

It's okay to let our guard down when we feel safe ♥

TGI Friday for me!

What do you think of my new jumper 🤣 I was proudly wearing it for my in-person work today.

Part of my work is to encourage and welcome people to bring their true selves into our sessions together on a journey to authenticity. How could I do this if I didn't allow myself that too! Here I am, unapologetically a Garfield fan ♥️

Comment FREE BEHIND ANGER if you’d like this FREE poster!

Anger is loud. It gets attention quickly. But most of the time, it isn’t the whole story.

When a child is angry, there’s usually something underneath it… hurt, fear, embarrassment, frustration, grief, or feeling left out. When we slow the moment down and help him or her name what’s really going on, everything shifts. The conversation gets calmer. The child feels understood instead of just corrected.

This “What’s Behind Anger?” poster gives you a simple visual to use during calm-down moments, after conflict, or in counseling sessions. It helps build emotional vocabulary without turning it into a lecture. It gives kids something concrete to look at and say, “That’s what this is.”

Brené Brown actually used this exact version in one of her books. That tells you how powerful and universal this concept really is. Anger is often the surface emotion. There’s almost always more underneath.

If you’d like the free printable, comment FREE BEHIND ANGER and I’ll send you the link.

Other people’s bullsh*t is not your burden to carry 💥

Their moods, projections, passive-aggressive comments, or sideways energy…

None of it is about you. It’s about them.

The sooner you realize this, the more peace you’ll have.

Your job is not to fix it, shrink yourself, or explain your way into being understood.

Your job is to stay grounded in your energy, your values, and your peace 💚

Let Me limit the time I pour into this person.
Let Me note that this is who this person is.

That’s maturity. That’s power. That’s freedom.
