Elowen is now 10 weeks old! ๐ฅณ๐ฉท
I found navigating through the "fourth trimester" a journey in itself, especially the first 3-4 weeks.
During this period, all the days merged into one and it was a blur of feds, being sleep deprived, nappy changing and hardly leaving the house. And to top it off I was recovering from having a c-section, I had absolutely no appetite and my hormones were completely all over the place!
(I know I'm not alone in saying this ๐)
I remember going out with Elowen alone for the first time in the pram, and when I got home...I cried for an hour!
Nothing prepares you for the hormone changes after birth, and I think I cried everyday for 3 weeks.
I started my postpartum self care journey a couple of weeks ago:

๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ฐ๐ถ๐๐ฒ: I cannot tell you how GOOD it feels to be out of the house at least once a day (unless the weather is horrendous) for me + Elowen.
I tend to go on an early morning walk with her in the pram for 45/60 minutes, and a 20 minute stroll in the afternoon with her in the sling.
โ ๐๐ฎ๐ถ๐น๐ ๐ฟ๐ผ๐๐๐ถ๐ป๐ฒ: Having a daily routine even before pregnancy has always been a priority for me, especially as I worked from home. This included self-care, household upkeep, exercise etc.
Now that Elowen is nearly 3 months old, establishing some kind of routine has proven to be a good thing for us so far - I know this is quite a controversial subject, and I respect that every baby is different. It is far from perfect, but that's Ok!
๐ธ ๐ฆ๐ฒ๐น๐ณ๐ฐ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฒ: A hot bath rather than a quick shower if I can, having time to wash my hair, home facial care, moisturising as my skin is so dry postpartum, nails/hair appointment, but realistically most of the time it's a quick cuppa + sit down.
