Some recent snaps of local wanderings. 🫐🍎🍄🐚
I've recently been on a course run by the about increasing nature connection within our healthcare settings 🌿.
Studies have shown huge improvements in mental, physical and social wellbeing of patients in healthcare settings where nature based interventions are prioritised.
On a personal note as well, I find getting out and about locally, engaging with the changing seasons, smells, fruits, sounds keeps me grounded and in tune with my place on this little planet 🌍
So many of my clients are housebound and aren't able to access the bounty that's currently sweeping the countryside.
So, the things I've taken away into my practice are:
-Trying to keep trees/gardens behind me on screen when I'm working virtually.
- Encouraging people to get outside / be positioned near to a window as much as able, even just to see a patch of grass (patients who were able to see trees rather than buildings in hospital recovered faster according to some studies !)
- Utilising nature sounds as part of my meditation practices.
- Exploring the potential of accessible, outside yoga workshops in the future.
Feel free to comment with any other ideas you may have!! 🌳
