Forest of the Mind Counselling - Herefordshire

Forest of the Mind Counselling - Herefordshire Forest of the Mind Counselling is the work of myself, Lauren. Person Centred Counsellor in Herefordshire and member of the BACP.

I offer a safe, therapeutic space built on acceptance and empathy. I value each person as they are and listen sensitively to their experiences, helping them explore fears, build confidence, and make self-directed changes toward becoming their true self. I’m a UK trained, BACP registered person-centred counsellor with experience in both charities and private practice. I’ve worked with people facing stress, anxiety, low mood, self-esteem challenges, life transitions, grief, loss, and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). I also bring personal insight from living with autistic adults and children, over a decade of supporting unpaid family carers and a strong understanding the unique pressures that can come from rural and farming life, too. Starting counselling can feel like a big step — I’m here to make that journey feel a little easier, one step at a time. Sessions are available in person, online and via telephone.

My inspiration is the tree's ability to grow, to survive and learn how I can thrive even in challenging conditions.

"We should grow like a tree that likewise does not know its law. We tie ourselves up with intentions, not mindful of the fact that intention is the limitation, yes, the exclusion of life.” Carl Jung

Attending yesterday's and talk from as well as meeting has inspired me to get the laptop out to get stuck in with module two of the method for my Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy course. The issue is... the more I read and think about the herd, the more blue sky I see, the more I want to be out with the herd....

I am excited to share that the next chapter of my journey in Counselling private practice has begun.

This month, I have started my Level 5 Award in Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy: The Leap Equine Method.

Horses have always been my healers and I can't wait to learn more about this approach AND to then expand my current counselling practice to be able to co-facilitate a therpauitc space with horses.

Unlock new pathways in therapeutic practice with the Crossfields Institute Level 5 Award in Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy: The LEAP Method. Designed for mental health professionals, this qualification combines relational horsemanship, trauma-informed care, and advanced facilitation skills to create deeper connections and healing opportunities.

At LEAP, we believe in the power of horses to transform lives—bringing awareness, trust, and resilience that enriches daily life, both for clients and practitioners.
