🌸 SELF HEAL IBS, WITHOUT SIDE EFFECTS OR RIGID DIETS

When we experience trauma, this can create residual stress in the gut. If we don't fully process it or let go, this energy stays in our digestive tract.
Having yesterday's stress in our body leads to a stronger physiological response to today's stressors. Our digestive tract becomes hyper vigilant. To address this sensitivity to stress and digestive symptoms, we address root cause stress and emotions in our gut.

Making new healthy habits is hard for all of us. It's human nature.
We can be kind to ourselves and set ourselves up for success by starting small. Over a year, gradual 1% changes build up to lasting health and well-being.
When I started some morning exercise last winter, I began with 2 minutes. I could get out of bed with the mindset: "it's only 2 minutes!" After 2 minutes I was tempted to do more because it took longer to get set up! But sticking with a micro habit until it becomes second nature and building in gentle increments can help establish lasting new healthy habits. If I had set myself 20 minutes from the off, by day 3 I probably would have hit 'snooze'!
Healthy micro habits can be based around removing toxins from our diets, moving more, managing stress or finding more ways to build love and support for ourselves. All of these are lifestyle changes that can give us vitality to spiral upward, physically and mentally.
What micro change could you make for the next 7 days? Remember to celebrate success!

An effective way to support ourselves with difficult emotions, thoughts, experiences and sensations. All of which are rooted in our body. Tapping works directly on our body and directs healing towards these blocks when we focus our attention on them.

I even use "magic tapping" to help my 6 year old son if he is struggling to get to sleep. It calms our nervous system and supports healing, rest and digest.

In this video I demonstrate some of the key tapping points. Download a free (no sign up!) graphic showing these points.

I used to think IBS was something I would have to always live with, I'd had it so long it even felt like it was part of me.

As a root cause practitioner I have addressed the why behind my own symptoms, but addressing and healing IBS has been the most profound by far.

The neural pathways between our brain and our second brain (gut) can be disrupted by challenging or traumatic life experiences. This creates a disconnect in our system. Neural pathways are plastic, which means they can be changed by walking the lesser trodden path again and again - gently and gradually - until it becomes the second nature.

When we experience stress and trauma, we can veer away from parts of our body, sensations and emotions that are uncomfortable. This is natural. However, by gently reconnecting, listening, hearing and seeing these feelings within, we can rebuild connections, repair disruptions and understand our symptoms at a deeper level.

Begin with a daily self loving reconnection practice - for just a few minutes at the start/end of the day - or when anxiety fluctuates. There's a guide to this "daily reconnection and self care" practice on my website: https://beyondibs.co.uk/feelings-check-in/

We often try to manage IBS symptoms through lifestyle changes such as exercise or diet. These lifestyle factors affect our physical body and can support and relieve IBS symptoms.

Anything that supports us physically can be seen as supporting the hardware of our body, the building blocks. But when we think energetically, there are emotions, thoughts and experiences that impact IBS symptoms. This can be seen as the software, which runs in the background, is invisible yet more malleable.

When we think of IBS holistically and consider how we can support our hardware and address the root causes that are affecting how the software runs, lasting change is possible.
