It’s exhausting when your brain won’t stop running worst-case scenarios, isn’t it?

You try to leave the house — but a voice inside tells you to go back and check the oven or door Again.

You wash your hands until they’re raw because something just doesn’t feel “clean enough.”

You replay a single thought over and over, terrified it means something about who you are.

Even when you know it doesn’t make sense, it still feels impossible to ignore.

That’s the trap of OCD.

It’s not about being overly tidy or quirky — it’s anxiety dressed as certainty, disguised as responsibility.

👉🏻 Does it ever feel like your brain’s stuck on a playlist of intrusive thoughts?
👉🏻 And no matter how many times you hit ‘stop’, it just starts up again?

"What if I didn’t check… just this once?"

It’s exhausting, isn’t it?

The constant loop of thoughts, the need to double-check, triple-check, just to make sure. You know you’ve locked the door. You know you’ve turned off the stove. But that “what if” sneaks in, whispering doubts that won’t let you rest.

OCD isn’t just about being “extra clean” or liking things a certain way. It’s an anxious cycle of intrusive thoughts and compulsions that feel impossible to resist. And no, you can’t just “stop thinking about it.” If only it were that simple.

Do you ever catch yourself feeling like your brain is a browser with 50 tabs open, except they’re all alarms and you can’t find the mute button?

What would it feel like to step back and recognise those thoughts for what they are, just thoughts, not threats?

I should be over this by now… right?

That’s what they say. Time heals everything. Just move on. But if trauma was that simple, you wouldn’t still feel your heart race at certain sounds, your stomach drop in certain situations or your body tense up before you even realize why.

Trauma doesn’t follow a timeline. It lingers in the nervous system, showing up in ways that don’t always make sense.

Maybe you:

🔄 Overthink every small decision, afraid of making a mistake.
🚨 Feel on edge, like something bad is about to happen.
🛑 Shut down or avoid things that remind you of the past.
