We had such a lovely session at Art Club today creating our very own dream sticks – Wish & a Swish! ✨

This special project was in collaboration with and and the creativity, imagination, and care the children put into their work was just beautiful to see. Every stick tells its own little story 💫

There are lots of exciting events happening next Saturday 9th May in Glossop, why not pop along to the parade with your dream sticks and join in the fun? It would be amazing to see them out in the world!

Big News from Saturday Art School!

We’re growing! Due to increasing demand, we’re excited to be opening an additional class to welcome more young artists into the studio.

New session added:
We’re introducing a 1:30pm–3:00pm session, offering a smaller, more focused group with an emphasis on building skills and confidence—perfect for children who benefit from a more tailored approach.

Small groups, big creativity:
Our sessions are intentionally kept small to create a nurturing, focused environment where every child is supported to grow in confidence and develop their artistic skills.

Expert-led sessions:
Led by a fully qualified art teacher and supported by trained, DBS-checked workshop leaders, your child will be in safe, professional hands.

Whether your child is just starting out or already loves creating, we’d love to welcome them into our studio.

Introducing… THE WALL.

The very first artist to leave her mark is the enchanting Joanna Allen

Jo is an artist, printmaker, and textile designer from New Mills. Her work is as soft as clouds, as sweet as Swizzels, and she’s a truly magnificent choice to begin THE WALL’s journey into the monument it was always destined to become.

You might even catch Jo in action—she’ll be working on the piece throughout the day from time to time. So if you pop in for a brew and get lucky, you could see her in her happy place.

Jo’s incredible work will be showcased on THE WALL throughout 2026.

And in 2027… a new talented artist will step into the arena.

So take it in, enjoy it...while you can.

I’m so proud of the creativity unfolding in my sessions at the moment.

One of my Year 10 students has been coming along each week and is fully engaged in the work we’re doing together. By tapping into his personal interests, from music inspiration to a growing love of graphic design and photography, he’s made a fantastic start on our “Things Dipped in Things” project and is really finding his creative voice.

What makes these sessions even more special is that his mum joins him. She’s working towards her Photography GCSE, and together they make a brilliant team.

Watching their creativity grow side by side, and sharing that mother-and-son bonding time, is a real joy 💚

Last Saturday, we explored mono printing in the studio, and it was such a brilliant session. One of my A-level helpers shared what they’re currently learning at college and decided to lead part of the workshop for our younger artists, which was just wonderful to see.

Moments like this remind me how special our art clubs really are. Seeing young creatives supporting and inspiring each other is what it’s all about.

So many wonderful things are happening, and I truly couldn’t do it without the help of all our amazing young people, and most of all, , for everything she does. 💛

Feeling very grateful and proud of this creative community.
