Wellness with Sally HCPC Registered Psychologist & Senior Yoga Teacher with 8+ years in trauma, somatic therapy & yoga.

Offering 1:1 sessions, embodiment classes & events in High Peak, Derbyshire. Helping you heal, reconnect & build nervous system resilience. Having experienced periods of depression, stress and anxiety before, I take individuals who are ready for change from burn out and disconnect to positive mental and physical wellbeing. I specialise in women's health, positive mental health and trauma combining neuroscience and psychology with the spiritual practices of yoga, meditation and yoga nidra to help individuals, organisations and groups to flourish, find peace and feel at ease. I offer a unique and holistic approach to wellbeing through working one-to-one with individuals, my online offer of a membership, classes and courses as well as group programmes and in-person events. My belief is that psychology and yoga should be accessible to everybody, and I teach effective ways to deal with difficult situations or states of mind, including stress and anxiety. My focus is to promote positive wellbeing, psychological growth and spiritual practice for everyone. As a psychologist I have a deep understanding of how our minds function, and as a yoga teacher, I also specialise in the body and mind connection.

Thinking can help us make sense of our experiences, but it does not always complete the process of healing. The body carries stress, habit and memory in ways the mind alone cannot resolve. This is why somatic and creative practices matter.

When we shift from thinking into feeling, the nervous system has the opportunity to soften, reorganise and move towards regulation. Gentle movement, breath and creative expression offer a non verbal pathway for processing, allowing release to happen safely and at a pace the body can tolerate. There is no need to push or perform. What matters is presence and curiosity.

I’ve written more about this in my latest blog, exploring creativity as a tool for regulation and healing. Read the blog https://www.wellnesswithsally.com/blog

In 1:1 therapy, we listen beneath the words.

I work with Internal Family Systems (IFS) alongside body-based, nervous-system-informed practices to help you understand not just what is happening, but how it’s being held in your body. Thoughts, emotions, sensations, impulses, protectors, younger parts - all are welcome information.

Rather than analysing or trying to fix anything, we slow things down enough to notice how your system is responding, moment by moment. This work is about building safety first.

When the body feels supported, overwhelmed parts don’t have to work so hard.
Patterns that once felt stuck can begin to soften, reorganise, and find new options.
Healing doesn’t come from pushing, forcing, or “doing it right.”It comes from presence, curiosity, and learning to relate differently to what’s already here.

My role is to walk alongside you - helping you develop a kinder, more attuned relationship with your inner world, so change can emerge naturally, at your pace.
🤍 If this way of working resonates, you’re welcome to book a free discovery call via the link in my bio.

January doesn’t have to be a sprint.
It can be a slow orientation -
listening, sensing, remembering what matters
before deciding where to place your energy.
There’s time.
Let this month be about arrival, not achievement. 🤍

Come and join us this January. Follow the link in my bio to book in a series of classes starting this week for your reflective 1 hour a week.

Yoga for Stress Relief courses - start this week!!

Feeling overwhelmed, tense, or constantly “on edge”?
This Yoga for Stress Relief course is designed to help you gently calm your nervous system and reconnect with a sense of ease – even if you’re completely new to yoga.

Led by Sally, these classes use slow, somatic-based practices drawn from Yin Yoga, Somatics, and Traditional Chinese Medicine to release deep tension, soothe the mind, and restore balance in the body.

✨ This is for you if:
You’ve been told yoga might help… but don’t know where to start
Life feels full-on and you’re craving a quiet, grounding hour each week
You’ve tried yoga before but struggled to keep it up
You specifically want to reduce stress and deeply relax

🧘‍♀️ What to expect
Gentle, longer-held postures that work on deep tissues
Nervous-system calming practices and mindful breathing
Space to slow down, soften, and simply be
A compassionate, non-pushy approach – no flexibility or experience needed
This isn’t about performance or forcing shapes. It’s about small, mindful movements creating big shifts – physically, emotionally, and mentally. A chance to come home to yourself, exactly as you are.

Your Nervous System Needs Settling, Not Self-Improvement
January often brings a rush to start fresh, set big goals, and fix things. But before you jump into the whirlwind of New Year’s resolutions, remember that your nervous system needs something different right now: settling.

So here's your 2nd January reminder:
Your nervous system doesn’t need a new version of you.
It needs settling.
After the intensity and disruption of December, many nervous systems are still catching up, even if the calendar says it’s time to “start again”.

If you’re feeling flat, foggy, irritable, emotional, or resistant to plans, nothing has gone wrong.
This is often what re-entry feels like.
Before goals, habits, or improvements, the body needs:
-rhythm
-predictability
-rest
-gentle orientation back into daily life

Today, support might look like:
-doing one thing at a time
-grounding your feet on the floor
-softening your breath
-letting “enough” be enough

Change grows best from stability, not pressure.
January doesn’t ask you to transform, it invites you to settle.🤍

If you’re feeling disconnected or overwhelmed, I’m here to support you in finding that sense of grounded calm. Reach out for an enquiry call about 1:1 sessions.

Not every new beginning needs intensity or pressure. In fact, the research is clear that sustainable change happens when we approach ourselves with curiosity rather than force.

When we soften the expectations, the nervous system becomes more open to learning and integrating new habits.

As we move into a new year, this is the invitation. Gentle shifts. Thoughtful questions. A little more compassion for the parts of you that are tired or cautious. This is where real change begins.

New yoga & somatics series start in January, created to support you in this calmer, more grounded way. Find out more by following the link in my bio.

2025 🤍

This year stretched me in ways I didn’t expect.
From the outside, it’s been a year of growth - fuller rooms, beautiful events, retreats, and a community that feels real, warm, and alive. I’m so grateful for every person who has shown up, practised, shared space, trusted me, and kept coming back. Truly.

It’s been a year when I expanded my therapy practice, trained in Internal Family Systems, and also committed to my own therapy journey. I started and ended many therapy journeys with clients, all of whom taught me something.

Many many moments of nature, of curiosity, of falling in love with where we live, of deep loneliness, of adventure, of pride.

And… it’s also been a year of deep personal challenge.
The kind that humbles you. The kind that asks you to slow down, strip things back, feel more than you planned to, and practise what you teach - over and over again.

There were many many moments of doubt, exhaustion, and quiet grief alongside the joy. Times where holding space for others required digging very deep into my own reserves. Times where growth didn’t look shiny, but felt raw and necessary. I also made many mistakes, a reminder than growth isn’t linear.

What I’m most proud of isn’t the expansion -
it’s that I showed up. I kept trying my very best to choose integrity, care, nervous-system honesty, and community over pushing, proving, or pretending. Although also many moments of wondering if I was burnt out in the juggle, but then ending the year actually feeling really replenished (rare for me!)

Thank you for being part of this year - whether you came to one class, many sessions, an event, or simply followed along quietly.

Here’s to a softer, steadier kind of growth as we move forward.
One rooted in connection, truth, and being human first.
I’m pretty excited for 2026 after what I feel has been a year which has stripped me back. Big exciting news to come!!

Why book a yoga series instead of a drop-in?

Because bodies change through repetition, safety, and continuity - not force.

This series isn’t about pushing, fixing, or performing.
It’s about steady, supportive practice that helps your body feel safer, stronger, and more at home over time.

A series gives your nervous system time to soften, your strength time to build, and your awareness time to deepen.

This is gentle, grounded yoga with purpose - supporting both your body and your mental health.

If that sounds like what you’ve been missing, I’d love to support your practice.
