🦶 Peripheral Neuropathy 🦶

Peripheral neuropathy in the feet means the nerves that carry messages between your feet and your brain are damaged or not working properly. This can change how your feet feel, and how well they work.

👣 Common Foot Symptoms

Tingling or buzzing sensations in the toes or soles

Burning or stabbing pain, especially at night

Numbness – parts of the foot may feel “dead” or like there’s cotton wool inside

Loss of feeling – not noticing a stone in your shoe or a cut

Balance problems – feet may feel clumsy or unstable

Muscle weakness – especially in the toes or arches

⚠️ Why It Matters in Foot Health

Injury risk increases – small cuts, blisters or pressure spots can go unnoticed

Ulcers can form easily – especially in people with diabetes

Delayed healing – because nerve damage may also affect circulation

Higher risk of infection or amputation if wounds aren’t caught early

✅ How Can Cublington Foot Care Help 🙏

Check for signs of neuropathy – like reduced sensation using monofilaments

Keep feet safe and protected – by managing nails, skin, and pressure areas

Offer advice on footwear and daily foot checks

Refer to your GP if needed

🧠 Common Causes of Foot Neuropathy

Diabetes (most common)

Vitamin B12 deficiency

Certain medications or chemotherapy

Nerve compression or injury

⬇️ What can you do to help yourself? ⬇️

Check your feet daily – look for redness, blisters, cuts or swelling

Never go barefoot, even indoors

Wear well-fitting shoes – avoid tight seams or rubbing

See your foot health practitioner regularly 😊

I am certified to apply the Onyfix Nail Correction System. I have been offering this for nearly 2 years and have had consistently good outcomes so love the product!

Get in touch if you are suffering with the pain of ingrown or involuted toenails and want to avoid surgical resolution, or the cost and inconvenience of regular appointments to relive the pain.

The cost is £45 per nail for big toes and £20 for lesser toes. The initial appointment will include a neurovascular check of the foot and lower limb and preparation of the nail bed and costs £90.
The band will be reviewed after 12 weeks and treatment takes about 9 months on average but is dependent on how fast your nail growth is.

It takes approximately 9 months to reshape the nail but the pain free toes come much sooner! The review appointments for just the Onyfix applied costs £45 per big toe and £20 per lesser toe. This can be added onto a standard general footcare appointment if required.

👣 Ingrown or Curved Toenails Getting You Down?

Let’s sort it — gently, safely, and without the faff, thanks to Onyfix 💙

If you’ve had sore or ingrown nails that keep flaring up, you’ll know how annoying (and painful!) they can be. And the thing is — unless you actually correct the shape of the nail, it’ll likely keep coming back.

That’s where Onyfix comes in — a brilliant, pain-free way to fix the problem at the root.

💡 So, what actually is Onyfix?

It’s a soft, medical-grade composite that’s applied to the surface of your toenail (kind of like a strip). Once it sets, it gently holds your nail in the right shape as it grows — no pulling, no pressure, no pain.

✅ No cutting or needles
✅ Totally safe if you’re diabetic
✅ No downtime — just carry on as normal
✅ Great for long-term relief

It’s a bit like giving your toenail a ‘memory’ of how it should grow — and that means less pain, fewer flare-ups, and no more dreading your shoes!

🌟 What people say:

“I wish I’d done this ages ago — no pain and it’s made such a difference!”

If that sounds like something you need, just pop me a message. I’m always happy to chat things through and let you know if it’s right for you!

Dry, cracked heels? You’re not alone—and you don’t have to put up with them.

Urea foot cream is one of the best ways to keep your feet soft, smooth and comfortable. Urea is a natural ingredient already found in your skin. It helps draw in moisture and gently removes hard, dry skin.

Regular use can:
• Soften rough, cracked heels 🦶
• Keep feet hydrated 💧
• Improve comfort in shoes 👟
• Make your feet look and feel healthier ✨

Why foot cream works differently
Foot creams are specially formulated to tackle the tougher skin on your feet. Unlike regular body moisturisers, which focus mainly on hydration, foot creams often contain urea, which not only locks in moisture but also breaks down hard, thickened skin.
This makes them far more effective for dry heels, calluses, and cracked skin.

What to choose?
For everyday dryness, go for a cream with 10% urea. If your feet are very hard or callused, you may benefit from 25%

Available at Cublington Footcare
I stock both urea foot creams and a handy urea spray—perfect if you struggle to bend or apply creams. Both are gentle, effective, and carefully selected to support healthy feet ✅

Just ask at your next visit or message me to reserve one! Your feet will thank you!

Fungal nail infections – more than just a cosmetic issue and best dealt with early!

👣 I see lots of fungal infections at a later stage—simply because people feel embarrassed. Please don’t be.
This is incredibly common, and you are not alone. Getting help early makes treatment much easier and more effective.

Discoloured, thickened, crumbly nails? You might be dealing with a fungal nail infection (onychomycosis). It’s very common—and the sooner it’s identified, the easier it is to treat.

What causes it?
Fungi love warm, damp places—like sweaty shoes or shared showers. They sneak in through tiny cracks in the nail or skin and thrive on keratin (the protein in your nails).

You’re more at risk if you:
• Are over 60
• Have diabetes, poor circulation, or a weakened immune system
• Frequently wear tight or non-breathable footwear
• Have athlete’s foot
• Walk barefoot in public areas like pools or gyms

Common signs to watch for:
• Yellow, white, or brown nail discolouration
• Thickened or crumbly texture
• Lifting or separation from the nail bed
• Pain or discomfort

Top tips to prevent fungal nails:
• Keep feet clean and dry
• Always dry thoroughly between the toes
• Trim toenails regularly
• Wear breathable shoes and clean socks
• Avoid sharing nail tools or footwear
• Only visit salons that sterilise their tools and foot spas to prevent cross-contamination
• Treat athlete’s foot promptly

If you’re unsure whether it’s fungal—ask me at your next appointment or send me a message/book online.
