Another fun week at Cromwell House Care Home, with activities including a trip out in the minibus and a fabulous production of Cinderella from Tickled Pink, thoroughly enjoyed by our residents. We are now getting ready to celebrate Burn's Night and our Chefs have planned a Scottish themed menu for the day, which looks delightful!

We had a lovely afternoon last Saturday at our "Cheese Lovers" afternoon. Residents and Relatives enjoyed a selection of cheeses, savoury biscuits and pickles alongside some Port, wine of their choice or non-alcoholic beverage. Our wonderful Chef Gary catered for our residents that required a modified consistency diet, so that they too could enjoy the afternoon. Our residents thoroughly enjoyed it and we will definitely be holding another event soon. 😊

The coffee tasting afternoon was a big success with the residents at Cromwell House! Overall, it was the caramel latte that was everyone's favourite and some of the residents were shocked at how sweet it was! Cappuccino came in 2nd and Double chocolate mocha was the least favourite as the residents gave feedback that it was bitter and was not as smooth as the caramel latte.☺️

As we enter 2026, I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has been a part of and supported our home, from our Residents and Relatives, our supporting multidisciplinary teams, our GP practice, the LIving in Care Team, our regulators and of course the staff Team at Cromwell House, who have supported the home and our Residents, through the ups and downs of 2025. We have had some good times and some not so good times and we have said goodbye to some precious people who will always be remembered. Now as we head into 2026, let’s see what the year holds. Let’s treat each other with kindness, compassion and empathy and let us constantly strive to support and improve the quality of life of those within our care. Happy New Year to you all, and thank you, I hope it is a safe and peaceful year for you all. 💕

Christmas is a time for wishes, a time for us to reminisce and think of times past and present and this year we asked our residents what their one Christmas Wish would be. We have been having a wonderful Festive time at Cromwell House Care Home, from festive arts and crafts, to trips out to view the Christmas decorations and enjoy a cup of tea and some cake, to our fabulous Christmas Party! Lots of smiles, fun and games, and we must also say a huge thank you to our Chefs for the amazing Christmas cake they have created which will be enjoyed by our residents on Christmas Day. 😊

Santa's Grotto will be open on Friday 19th December between 2-4.30pm for visits. All children are welcome to come and visit Santa and make their Christmas wishes. Children will also receive a Gift and Santa's elves will be on hand to create some Christmas mischief!! Santa is getting his list ready for all of your Christmas wishes and we hope you can come and join us for a festive afternoon.

From tomorrow we will be leaving some Festive Treats for our visitors! Homemade shortbread for you to enjoy. All recipes from our wonderful Group Catering Manager. The label will have a QR code which can be scanned for allergen and ingredients. We hope you enjoy a little bit of Festive cheer from us to you. 🎅🏻
