While the sun has been shining, we have been busy refreshing our garden area ready for lots of outdoor learning. ☀️🌻

At Allsorts Day Nursery we recognise the importance of outdoor play in supporting children’s development within the EYFS. Our outdoor environment provides valuable opportunities for children to explore, investigate and develop key skills across a range of areas of learning, including Physical Development, Communication and Language, and Understanding the World.

Through activities such as digging, building and exploring, children are able to develop their gross and fine motor skills, build confidence and curiosity, and learn about the world around them through first-hand experiences.
We are looking forward to spending lots of time outdoors and creating meaningful learning opportunities for your little ones. 😃🌿

📚✨ World Book Day Fun at Nursery! ✨📚

What a wonderful week we’ve had celebrating World Book Day at nursery! The children have enjoyed taking part in lots of exciting activities inspired by some of our favourite stories.

We got creative with Gruffalo playdough, painted our very own Gruffalos, and designed colourful bookmarks to use when sharing our favourite books. The children also had great fun making their own beanstalks for Jack to climb, inspired by the classic story Jack and the Beanstalk. 🌱

Throughout the week we’ve loved spending time together listening to our favourite stories, using our imaginations, and bringing books to life through play and creativity.

This week we have been having lots of fun celebrating Chinese New Year! The children have enjoyed learning about the festival through a variety of exciting, hands-on activities.

We have been creative by making our very own colourful dragons and carefully decorating beautiful cherry blossom trees. The children also practised their fine motor skills by using chopsticks to transfer noodles into bowls — it was trickier than it looks, but everyone showed fantastic perseverance!

We also explored Chinese books and newspapers, encouraging curiosity about language, symbols and culture.

The children had the opportunity to taste some delicious Chinese foods including noodles, egg fried rice and spring rolls. Many of them were excited to try something new!

It has been a joyful week full of learning, creativity and cultural exploration. We are so proud of how engaged and enthusiastic the children have been! 🧧✨

We’re looking for a qualified Level 3 Early Years Practitioner and Apprentices who brings kindness, creativity, and a true love for early childhood education into everything they do.

What we’re looking for:
• A Level 3 qualification in Early Years/Childcare to work all year round

• Early Years Apprentice that wants to earn they learn.

• A warm, caring, and positive attitude

• A team player with great communication skills

• Someone who sees the world through a child’s eyes and joins in their wonder

• A sense of humour and a willingness to be a dinosaur, a doctor, or a tea party guest – often before 9am!

As Valentines day is approaching, The children have been making their very own love potions. We discussed what Valentines is and spoke about the people who we love❤️
The children shown good hand eye coordination whilst scooping the water into the cups using different sized spoons. The children were able to identify wether their cups was empty, half full and full. The children then decided to find outdoor natural resources such as sticks to mix their potions. ❤️💌

⭐️MEET THE TEAM⭐️

Hello, my name is Sam and I work as an Admin Manager not only at Allsorts but at our sister settings too.

I have been in childcare for many years, starting off as an apprentice completing my Level 2 to working my way through a variaty of roles, not only completing my level 3 but also my foundation degree in Early years. Then moving onto a managerial role supporting all of the assistant managers at the settings.
It's so lovely coming in and seeing how the children are developing and achieving milestones with the lovely activities that the girls set up for them day in and day out.

In my spare time I like spending time with my family and friends creating memories 💕

Hello my name is Ellie,
I have worked in childcare since I was 16 years old. I have been working at the Old Rectory Nursery for 5 years with a little break in between.
I work as the the Curriculum Lead across all of the settings now and I genuinely love what I do. Since I was young, I’ve always said I wanted to work with children it’s something that’s been in me from the start. What brings me the most joy is seeing the children grow, learn, and truly flourish in their own ways. ✨🩷
Outside of work, I enjoy spending quality time with my friends and family. 🤍
