We are very excited to share with you that our next ‘We Are Mums: Pastries & Play’ morning is on Friday May 17th 2024, and you are invited!

We are joined by some wonderful local businesses (see below) at in Harpenden from 10am - 12pm.

This event is suitable for children from birth to pre-school ages.

🍁 Wreath Making Workshop 🍁

We are very excited to host this wonderful & creative workshop in which our member will help you to create your own beautiful, natural wreath which will be perfect for this autumnal season.

The Autumn Wreath for 2023, will be created using all the rich, glorious colours and textures of this wonderful season.
🧡
This natural wreath will be created on a straw base, which can be used for future creations. We’ll use seasonal greenery, including eucalyptus which will dry beautifully over the coming weeks, preserved leaves in wonderful autumnal shades, together with a selection of dried flowers and seed heads.

This wreath can be hung indoors or outdoors, but does benefit from being protected by a porch!

It’s a fun, informal workshop and no experience is necessary. Come alone or why not bring a friend or family?

This Mother’s Day, The Zebra Riding Club] - the flagship restaurant at Hertfordshire’s - is celebrating the day with a delicious food offering.

Robin Gill and Ben Rand – renowned chefs and great friends from the Dairy Group, have curated a special farm-to-fork Mothering Sunday menu in the form of a roast utilising the abundance of fresh produce grown at the Birch Community Farm, along with the surrounding woodlands - all cooked over open fires.

Priced at £52pp, with an additional £40pp for a meticulously composed wine pairing experience, Zebra Riding Club’s Mothering Sunday Roasts keep seasonal, fresh produce at their heart.

Guests can expect a selection of sharing plates to start, including whipped cod's roe with breakfast radishes, Pommes Dauphin with preserved lemon aioli and pink radicchio with Marmite glazed duck hearts and black garlic. Hearty mains are the star of the show, with diners choosing from roast Swaldedale lamb with wild garlic and braised onions, roast Chalk stream trout with trout roe, and lemon butter sauce and Westcombe ricotta dumplings with romesco and hazelnut pesto, amongst other options, all served with Jersey Royal potatoes in a seaweed dressing and grilled early Spring vegetables. We are very excited to host this wonderful & creative workshop in which our member will show you how to create your own beautiful Spring wreath at the in their beautiful Garden Room.

The gorgeous spring wreath is built on a moss frame where you will be able to add spring bulbs, fresh flowers, mixed greenery including olive and pittosporum and twisted willow to add another layer of interest and texture.

This wreath is created in a different way to the Christmas wreath, so there’s something new to learn!

We popped in to see the guys at earlier to find out more about their local blendery based in Hertfordshire.
🍻
Their focus is on producing 100% spontaneously fermented beers aged in traditional vessels such as oak barrels (some oak of which is 150 years old!)
Their focus is to use local ingredients and work directly with local farmers and growers. Their work is seasonal (brewing in the cold months and fruit in the warm) and each beer they make is of that year and cannot be replicated anywhere else in the world.

Their produce blurs the lines between beer and other fermented beverages as many of the techniques, methods and concepts behind wine and cider are also found in their process.

These beers take a lot of time and care to create and are a labour of their love.
