Protect your boundaries

It’s easy to have boundaries when you’re alone . It’s harder when you’re faced with a person or a circumstance that invite you to let those boundaries slide.
During our practice tomorrow in ‘HOT DEEPER FLOW’ will be a Laboratory in which we will experiment with establishing and then holding your boundaries.
It may build your resistance and clarity in tempting situations.

For example, if there is a pose or a category of poses that you know aggravates an injury, you could practice committing to not doing them, even if everyone else in the room. Sometimes telling your teacher that you are opting out and makes it easier to hold your boundaries and not get swept away.

It’s so very underestimated how beneficial a
one-to-one yoga session can be.
During a one-to-one session, we are able to focus on exactly what you would like us to; it might be physical asana, or pranayama ( the breath ) and meditation, perhaps an entirely quiet yin session to soothe the system.

Maybe you are navigating physical implications, preventing you joining a community group session or maybe you would like to begin a practice at home and would like some guidance with this.
One size does not fit all!!

I’m incredibly aware that Yoga can often feel like a space that may be challenging to step into.
If I hadn’t taken that incredibly challenging step, I would not be where I am today, for which,
I am forever grateful for.

I am happy for you to share this session with friends or colleagues, either on a regular weekly basis or as one offs. This can be a wonderful way to share a class with friends or family.

Are you thinking of joining me tomorrow The Yoga Shed for Hot Deeper Flow?
If you are you can expect a mindful, Vinyasa-inspired practice that blends fluid, breath-led movement with longer-held fluidity of Vinyasa yoga, which creatively interweaves traditional postures.

December can be a busy time, so tomorrow we’re going to allow ourselves some space to transition.

Our class will slower transitions between poses encourage mindfulness, resilience and compassion.

Just a little time to lean in to ourselves.

‘Deep’ doesn’t have to be demanding, it can offer a more rounded approach.

Today’s early morning practice The Yoga Shed was focused on, filling the role of feeding an healthy distraction.

It was wonderful to take a moment, and to turn away from any projects or commitments that we had been avoiding , and instead turn toward the pleasant procrastination of our practice.

Know that often it’s when you turn away from something that you are chewing on, that breakthroughs occur .

We used the mantra
“ lean in to this moment”

Which made us feel accountable for feeding our healthy distraction.

Think ahead to a project, you’ll be working on soon . Can you strategise some healthy distractions you can turn to when you feel like you’re hitting dead ends?
And can you link your plans to a word or a phrase you can use as a mantra ?

One thing that consistently brings us to yoga and meditation is a desire to have a conversation with ourselves. This time to check in connects us to the important yogic practice of self study. When we take time to tune out of the world, we hear ourselves more.

The theme of our class this morning in Hot Deeper Flow at The Yoga Shed was ;

“ this is your Space to drop into yourself”

When we sat in pause, we sat in silence,another opportunity to check-in and notice what was coming up. Sometimes we move vigourously in a yoga practice and we don’t get a chance to think, so we found balance and focus to check in. Having space to yourself is a necessary kind of self-care , perhaps take this theme with you and allow some space for yourself also today 🙏🏽

A physically dynamic and vigorous style of Vinyasa yoga that emphasises moving fluidly from one challenging pose to the next, synchronised with the breath, while also encouraging a profound internal focus. The class is designed to build significant strength, endurance, and flexibility.
There will be lots of opportunities for exploration and progression!

Think ! Dynamic, energising, stronger and more creative vinyasas!

This class may be best suited for practitioners with some existing yoga experience who are looking for a dynamic and challenging physical and mental workout.

Ensure you hydrate plenty for the hours ahead of the class!
