Ganesh Chaturthi Remover of Obstacles.

🕎 Ganesha is a prominent Hindu god. He is the god of beginnings, wisdom and luck and worshipped as the remover of obstacles. Ganesha is easily recognised from his elephant head as you can see on my top here.

✨ Today devotees bring home beautifully crafted idols of Lord Ganesha, perform rituals, and offer prayers.

Unintentionally, I put on this T-shirt this morning (Perhaps 🤔 it’s was fate!? ) and only later in the day did I find out how incredibly impactful it would be on me.

Ganesha is my favourite god, and for many, many reasons. The main being that, through the years of struggle I have never not overcome those struggles. Today this t-shirt has reminded me of my strength.

🪷 Inner work is the conscious process of self-exploration and self-transformation aimed at understanding and integrating one’s unconscious thoughts, feelings, patterns, and traumas to achieve wholeness and inner peace. It involves directing attention inward to examine one’s psyche, bringing subconscious material to light, and shifting from being ruled by external conditions or past conditioning to living a life of self-awareness, confidence, and purpose

….Consciously I have been
“Doing the inner work” 🙏🏽

🧘🏽‍♀️ As a yoga student (and teacher) using mindfulness, meditation, and physical postures (asanas) help to cultivate my self-awareness, process my emotions, release inner trauma, and heal from deep-seated wounds like shame or grief. I use practices like focusing on the breath, journaling, reflecting on past experiences, and developing self-compassion to foster inner strength, I encourage myself to slow down for mental clarity, and a greater sense of self-love, ultimately this has guided me to a more integrated and vibrant life.

💜 Inner work is the psychological practice of identifying and dissolving the contractions and blockages that obscure your soul’s inner light.

✨ See the light. Find the light. Embrace the light. Be the light.’ - John Lennon

💚 Yoga lifestyle habits help me feel more grounded, content, focused, and, well, just happier. They help me accept the things I cannot change.

✨ Leading a yoga lifestyle does not need to be an all or nothing affair. You can make a few small conscious changes that can easily be incorporated into your day-to-day life. Start your yoga lifestyle off by making the easiest or most motivating changes for you. Several small changes will eventually add up and make a huge difference to body, mind, and spirit. Over time these choices will become natural and instinctive, and it will be easier to live the yoga way of life. Wherever you are on this path, be mindful of your goals and the steps you’re taking to achieve them.

In essence, a yoga lifestyle is a conscious, mindful, and ethical way of living that seeks to integrate the principles of yoga into every aspect of life, leading to greater well-being, self-awareness, and inner peace ☮️

My non-debatable practices such as dedicated yoga or movement, focused breathing , mindfulness, spending time in nature, nourishing the body with whole foods, prioritising sleep, and cultivating self-compassion and gratitude. These practices form a foundation for a more balanced, grounded, and peaceful life.

These are simple, healthy practices that I can commit to, every single day, no matter what
🙏🏽

You can’t pour from an empty cup. If you feel that the time is right to put yourself first, to help you reconnect with YOU, how about you just stop, right now, for one minute.
Be still.
Breathe.
Come back to yourself.
One minute just for you. ❤️

I’m taking more than a minute, perhaps a few pages. Just to reboot my nervous system 🧠 so I can continue….without overloading my system.

❤️ Why I love yin yoga

Before I got deeper into my yin yoga practice, I always found yin to be a slow and sometimes painful yoga style that I would skip for a faster vinyasa flow or a more intense dynamic practice. Somewhere along the line, when I found myself having to rebuild and regrow during the last few months, yin has become something that has added more to my life than I ever could have imagined.

🫁 It has reminded me to focus on my breath.
Breathing slowly and fully is essential during my yin practice. Deep belly breathing has helped me in meditation practice and it also helps hugely when I practice my yoga. When poses are challenging, I use my breath to focus and settle my mind. It helps hugely and makes it far easier during the longer holds, but it has also helped me when experiencing a palpitation episode!

✨How yin yoga keeps me sane
Ok, maybe a better way to put it is that yin yoga keeps me grounded and calm. Whatever the case, here’s why this yoga practice works so well for me…
It has brought me back to myself 🥰

This is the most important shift of all. Over the last year or so, my life has gone through a number of changes. Many of those scary changes. Dealing with hearty palpitations and increasingly high blood pressure on a daily basis since the beginning of the year, after my scary hospital trip at the end of February , it has not been easy. My daily yoga practice has helped me get back to myself, reconnecting and finding my peace. Along the way, a few med tweaks have also helped and slowly, the palpitations and BP are easing more and more.

Back on 10th March 2023 I completed my yin yoga training. At the time it was another string to my bow…..how wrong I was!

It’s been the foundations of my daily life ☯️

“Nature does not hurry, yet everything is accomplished”
Lao Tzu

I’ve been slowing down.

Reclaiming the time and tranquility to make meaningful connections–with people, with culture, with work, with nature, with my body and mind.

By slowing down it has reduced the stress I’ve been carrying, improved my mental and physical health, enhanced my self-awareness, and increased productivity in general.

Intentionally slowing down, has given me the ability to cultivate more mindfulness, appreciate the present moments, and make more conscious choices.

Slowing down has allowed me to think more clearly and make better decisions which have contributed to my overall well-being.

There is something wonderful about listening to your own inner wisdom/intuition/voice.

Using self-care activities, such as mindfulness practices, exercise, or spending time in nature has been a major part of my daily routine.

Are you aware of the pace of your daily activities?

Could you benefit from ‘Slowing Down too?

📸 Credit to for capturing me in this ‘slowly down’ phase of my life ❤️

Challenges to make life interesting, overcoming them is what makes life meaningful
- Unknown

Beaming with pride today, my first run this year.
Some of you will know I have been quite poorly and I have had to make some big changes, which I am okay with, although it has taken some time to adjust.
I was told by my cardiologist that when I felt it was time, I would know today was that time . It’s almost halfway through the year and it felt good to put on my running trainers back on this morning ( of which my husband brought me at the beginning of the year!) and get back outside, picking back up my much loved hobby. 🏃🏽‍♀️

I’m not planning running any marathons any time soon that’s for sure, but I’m absolutely elated to be back out, and feeling how I do today after a gentle run with my beautiful friend.

Find your pace, enjoy that space 🙏🏽✨

I’m back from half term away in the sunshine ☀️

There’s nothing like waking up to the sunshine every morning ✨

Although we may not be lucky enough to receive the sunshine every morning in the UK. There are things we can do to increase those happy feelings.

There is a reason that there is a specific yoga practice known as Sun Salutations that many do first thing in the morning. The linked poses actually keep the body moving and the blood pumping as you “salute” the sun. Many people practice right when they wake up.

Friday’s we salute the sun!

Booking is open for :
Flow and Glow ✨
