This morning at the cedars was all about movement. We did our usual movement routine of armchair exercises
Before moving into some sports games which are great for hand, eye coordination. We made a little competition out of the sports that was won by Helen.

This afternoon we finished off our door decorations and completed a quiz, the results were very close today! However Maureen did come out the overall winner 🏆

Getting back in after the bank holiday weekend today. We started off this morning with 2 games of bingo won by the amazing Elsie E this morning.
We got in a quick game of hang man this morning, before we were on to making some door decorations this afternoon, while I was pampering our residents with some lovely nails. The residents feedback for nails is that they make them feel good and help them express themselves- which is always great to hear! ❤️

Today is wonderful Helen’s Birthday.
We celebrated with a walk into town in the sun, topped off with a cuppa.

While we were out and about the residents got to making Helen some birthday cards which really made Helen smile.

This Afternoon we finished off with our
Knitting club meeting. We are working towards creating a blanket out of all the patchwork knitting the residents have been doing over the last few months and it’s coming along very nicley.

Today was another resident trip out and today it was the lovely Billy’s turn.
Me and Billy went on a lovely stroll in the sun, before heading to costa for a coffee. It’s super important that the residents get out and into the community especially while the weather is so lovely!☀️

Alongside taking Billy out this morning we also played a selection of sports games to keep us moving! Before heading out into the sun as a group this afternoon to complete some pinecone painting and become little florists using the wild flowers to create displays which we are using around the home 🏠 ❤️

On Tuesday we were lucky enough to be joined by an absolutely lovely choir who came and performed for our residents.

The residents were able to sing and dance along. We really enjoyed ourselves.
A big thank you to the wonderful choir for making this possible.

Another fabulous Monday at the Cedars.

We started off this morning with our weekly exercise group followed by some sports games that are really good for improving our hand eye coordination and fine motor skills. Such as: bowling, hoopla and bean bag toss.

This afternoon was our weekly bingo session, won by Isabelle. As well as some more nails. The ladies really enjoy picking out there colours and having a little pamper.

Getting out into the community is so important for our residents!
For this reason I have implemented “resident outing” Fridays!

This means every Friday morning, where the weather permits, I will be taking a different resident into town for a coffee, nice walk and a look around.

Today was the lovely Marjorie’s turn,
We headed to costa for a lovely coffee,
Before some charity shopping and stopping off in the library, as Marjorie used to go there herself.

All of the other residents were kept very entertained while I was out this morning, with a selection of activities to complete!

Decorating for St George’s day this afternoon. Including making our own flags and decorations and helping us with making the home nice and colourful with the decorations.

And ofcourse a spot of nail painting for our ladies! We played bingo this morning which was won by the lovely frank, twice in a row!
