On 1st October we celebrate the 35th United Nations . This annual event raises awareness of the challenges and opportunities of ageing, whilst celebrating the contributions older people make to society.

Elliscombe House is proud to support the International Day of Older Persons and ensure that our residents live with dignity and in a place where their voices are heard and their contributions are celebrated.

Last week our residents had the most magical time with Josie from Class Creative Art Studios, crafting enchanting fairy doors! 🧚‍♀️✨

Each little door is a reminder to always believe in magic and when placed in a woodland setting, they look truly whimsical. 🌿🍄

If you’re visiting Elliscombe House, keep your eyes peeled… you might just spot one or two hidden around the garden if you’re lucky! 💫🌼

Best friends and fond memories...these two ladies enjoyed some time reading in our library, Maggie was delighted to find a copy of a book there which she bought when she was 16!

Next month one of our staff (Nina) is taking part in the Ribbon Run for Sands - baby loss charity, the UK’s leading pregnancy and baby loss charity. This is a cause which is very important to her.
She will be running the 10K event in Exeter on 11th October, the link to her page is here:

Our residents had a wonderful time this week with Josie from Class Creative Art Studios in a special Art for Self-Care session.

They created vibrant lino-printed quotes filled with colour and positivity — gentle reminders of the power of affirmations and self-kindness.

Last week we had a visit from Tina Smith Blackwill, aka the Pom Pom lady! Tina gave our residents a seated dance class, as you can see they all thoroughly enjoyed it.
