Professional group and one to one Therapeutic Care for those living with dementia. The package is designed to enhance the enjoyment and quality of life.

After an initial assessment, a package of support and relevant care/activities will be put in place. Someone once told me, "Go and do what you're passionate about." It was very good advice. I've been on a journey for the last 13 years with my Mother and Father who both lived with Alzheimer's and Vascular Dementia respectively. They have since passed away but have left a valuable legacy behind them. When we were caring for them throughout the many stages of dementia, I learned the importance of correct Therapeutic Care and the difference that it could make. Therapeutic Care, when it is tailored to the needs and interests of the person, can make significant difference in behaviour and overall wellbeing. I saw this first hand and I became very passionate about ensuring that the quality of life of my parents could be as good as possible for as long as possible. After successfully completing a course with the Alzheimer's Society, coupled with many years of experience I'm branching out…
What I am offering is one to one Therapeutic Care for those living with dementia. Now, that's worth getting passionate about!

It was on this day 7 years ago I set up Wilmont Dementia Support ....Those years have flown by! I have had the privilege of working with so many amazing seniors and staff...and have made some great friends along the way 🙌❤️...As many of you will know, my reason for setting up the business was because both my parents developed dementia. The importance of proper tailored activities cannot be over stated.
I'm currently in Canada 🇨🇦 on a very important mission...helping care for our beautiful granddaughter while Mummy has returned to work (and loving it 😊) My heart will always be with those living with any form of dementia, and their families...So until I return, please accept my thanks for the incredible support and encouragement over the last 7 years! I'm truly grateful 🙏 ❤️

Thought I would share with all you lovely people who have supported me over the last 7 years!...My amazing kids gifted me with this absolutely beautiful pendant! It has been so well thought out...the Lily of the Valley flowers represent my own Mothers birth flower and the photo that I plan to have inside will be of Martha and Wrenn Fiáin Martha Browne....I love it!!! Thanks to our very thoughtful children!! I love you! ❤️

Well friends....here it is....the promise of the last hurrah...And what an emotional rollercoaster of a day it was!

To say Thank You, for all your support for me, when I set-up Wilmont Dementia Support 7 years ago, after having coffee with a very close and dear friend and with her encouragement, is an understatement and cannot possibly express the depth of my gratitude to supporters of this page, staff...management....residents...relatives...so many I now consider as wonderful friends...But I'll say it again anyway...

As many will know, before the pandemic I was working with numerous Nursing Homes and Residential Homes, along with many amazing seniors in their own homes.

My first Residential Home was Carmen House, with the lovely Pat and Alec. We had many fun times together, for which I'm truly grateful.

I also worked fairly regularly with Kingsland Nursing Home, and met Heather who had a wonderful heart for the seniors...since then it's been Judy and now Mark...who is the epitome of how caring for seniors looks like.

Around the same time I began working in Richmond Nursing Home after being given the opportunity by Home Owner and Manager at the time...Sharon, a truly dedicated Nurse herself, and professional care provider. It was here after the pandemic I decided I would base myself...and I have enjoyed every single moment since! The management and staff go above and beyond in ensuring the seniors experience a home from home environment, with that extra touch of pampering and luxury..What a treat when you have to make the move into Residential Care. ❤️ Many, I know will agree when I say every single member of staff counts in Richmond Nursing Home....From our amazing Office Manager, Rose Oliver and current Home Manager...the lovely Jennifer, to our kitchen/laundry/maintenance staff....You know who you are! 😉 and the dedicated Nursing Staff and Care Assistants...I applaud you all 👏👏

Hi friends 🤗
It's been a while from my last post...I've been busy with lots of various activities with all the amazing seniors I work with.

I've been privileged and blessed since setting up my wee business, and so fortunate to have met amazing people of every age!!

It's now time for a new adventure! Gary and myself are making a temporary move across the pond to be able to spend precious time with the little bundle of joy that is our granddaughter 💓

After 7 wonderful years I'm closing Wilmont Dementia Support on 14th September and will be doing final post then...there are many many people who have helped me along this journey and I'm afraid if I mention names, I'll leave someone out... and those who know me, know I'd worry about that! 🥰 I honestly cannot tell you how grateful I am for all your support encouragement and love.. for all the likes/shares and lovely words...THANK YOU ALL

Look out for the final hurrah...it should be fun!! 😘

Well, we actually received our reply from His Majesty King Charles and Queen Camilla....

Such excitement in our group session today! Though, I never expected anything less, given the absolutely wonderful poem our residents penned! Created from memories of Charles as a young boy and also from some of our seniors meeting his Mother...Her Majesty The Queen...Amazing

Change of 'office' today and not too shabby either!

Amazing day at Cultra Manor...with Alzheimer's Society Northern Ireland So many inspirational speakers, from researchers to personal stories...And the benefits of therapeutic activities...Singing For The Brain, being demonstrated so brilliantly by Edelle!

Always so much more to learn...well done everyone 👏👏

Few photos after our activities yesterday....We had a lot of fun together with our Memory Games and Cognitive Quizzes....Also enjoyed our armchair waltz and exercises 💃 As our wonderful seniors love poetry (humorous and otherwise) and encouraging words, I introduced 'The Word For Today'...very uplifting and much appreciated ❤️ 🙏

After giving their 'horses' (close enough) names 😀...our residents got into competitive spirit...Thanks to all the amazing staff who were the volunteer jockeys 🏇 🏇 😜👏

Beautiful shortcake, strawberries and cream followed with a glass of sparkling fizz...An afternoon fit for a King!! 👑

It takes a lot of wonderful people to run our equally wonderful Richmond Nursing Home Big thanks this time to the amazing Housekeeping Staff! These are two of the lovely girls that look after residents clothes/rooms and always with such respect and good humour. THANK YOU! 👏❤️
