The Rajah Quilt made in 1941 by convict women bound for Tasmania and the Dunkirk tapestry by John Caske were just two of the fascinating pieces discussed at the presentation today by Jacqueline Hyman at the March meeting of Honiton Dfas. The February meeting was extremely well attended. Doug Gillen
spoke about the development of Street Art from Graffiti in public places to the development of sophisticated murals and the use of apps to create moving images from the paintings on walls. Some artists like Banksy have made millions from their art while others have ended up in jail for defacing public property.
