Anxiety isn't just in your mind; it travels through your body too. 🌿 In Chinese Medicine, it's often linked to a Shen disturbance, especially when the Spleen struggles to nourish the Heart.

Common patterns include:
• Spleen Qi Deficiency → worry, digestive issues
• Heart Blood Deficiency → poor sleep, palpitations
• Liver Qi Stagnation → chest tightness, irritability

✨ Acupuncture points like HT7 and Yintang are known to calm the Shen and restore balance. Studies show that acupuncture can regulate the limbic system and vagus nerve, easing anxiety.

💡 Quick Tip: Apply light pressure to Yintang and breathe out slowly for 6 seconds. Feel the calm. 🌸

Your nervous system knows what safety feels like, what reminds it?

In the clinic, we see time and again: it’s not the grand gestures that bring nervous system relief, it’s the small, consistent acts of care.

Tell us in the comments:
☁️ A walk with no phone?
🫖 Tea in silence?
🌿 Your acupuncture session?
📖 Journaling before bed?

Small daily habits pave the path to greatness, especially when it comes to regulating the Shen and restoring calm.

Everybody is different, but all benefit from ritual, rhythm, and rest.

💡 Top Tip: The Spleen and Heart thrive on calm repetition. Choose one ritual and repeat it daily this week. Watch what softens. The Spleen and Heart thrive on calm repetition. Choose one ritual and repeat it daily this week. Watch what softens.

Here's what we assess:

August is here, a time for grounding and balance! Yet, many of us feel restless and uneasy. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, this could be Heart–Kidney disharmony or Yin Deficiency. Symptoms include insomnia, nervousness, and racing thoughts.

✨ Acupuncture can calm the Shen and restore balance.

🌿 Tip: Try stewed apple with cinnamon and soaked almonds before bed. Pair with SP6 acupressure and 4-6 breathing for a peaceful night.

✈️ Jet lag can do more than mess with your sleep; it can disrupt your digestion too! In Traditional Chinese Medicine, changing time zones may weaken Spleen and Stomach Qi, leading to bloating and sluggish digestion. 🌿

✨ Try this simple tip for a digestive reset:
Locate Ren-12 (Zhongwan), midway between the base of your sternum and belly button. Apply gentle, circular pressure for 30-60 seconds, especially before meals and rest. This can help regulate Stomach Qi, ease bloating, and anchor your body's center of nourishment.

📍Heading to Nosara, Costa Rica? Acupuncture sessions will soon be available to help reorient your system. Stay tuned for more details!

Got that wilting feeling?
When the sun’s relentless and life’s a little too loud, your system can start to fold in on itself, tired, overheated, overstimulated.

In Chinese Medicine, this is often a sign of Heart Fire or Yin Deficiency, when inner heat builds faster than the body can cool and contain it.

✨ Acupuncture offers a way to:
• Cool systemic inflammation
• Calm the Shen (mind/spirit)
• Improve sleep, mood, and skin health

We use points like LI11, PC8, and HT7 to help your body shift from overwhelm back to balance, so you can stand tall again, in your own rhythm.

📖I've just uploaded a new blog to my website: "Cooling the Fire" - Acupuncture for Summer Heat, Inflammation & Emotional Balance.

🌅 Planning a westward trip? While the journey might be exciting, your body might feel restless and uneasy as day turns into night.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, traveling west can extend your yang energy, potentially overstimulating your Heart and Liver systems. This may lead to restlessness, nausea, or emotional unease.

✨ Try Pericardium 6 (Neiguan) for relief:
• Calms the Heart and mind
• Reduces travel-related nausea or motion sickness
• Eases anxiety and helps adjust to new time zones

Locate it about three finger-widths below your wrist crease, between the tendons. Apply gentle, steady pressure, especially during flights or after landing.

☀️ As late summer skies stretch out, they often reflect our own feelings—vast, vibrant, and sometimes a bit overwhelming.

In Chinese Medicine, this time is governed by the Fire element. When Heart Fire flares up, without the Yin's cooling balance, it can leave us feeling emotionally drained, mentally unfocused, or physically tense.

🕊️ Just like birds finding their rhythm in flight, our bodies crave a return to their natural pace.

✨ Acupuncture can help calm the Shen (mind/spirit), clear internal heat, and restore balance beneath the summer glow. Move through the season with clarity, not burnout!

• Calm your spirit
• Boost melatonin for better sleep
