📌 Why Your Workouts Aren’t Working — And What to Do Instead
Struggling to lose fat or feel stronger, even though you’re exercising regularly? Discover why cardio alone isn’t enough for women over 40 — and how to train smarter for long-term results.

If you're doing everything right — regular workouts, eating well, staying consistent — but your body composition hasn’t changed in months (or even years)... you're not alone.

💥 Here’s the truth:Cardio, yoga, walking and Pilates all have their place. But if your goal is fat loss, better muscle tone, and lasting metabolic health — especially during perimenopause and midlife — then it’s time to focus on resistance training.

👉 Most women in their 40s, 50s and beyond are missing the one thing that could make all the difference: muscle.
🔑 Building strength can help you:✅ Boost your metabolism✅ Burn more fat (especially belly fat)✅ Improve blood sugar balance✅ Feel energised and empowered✅ Future-proof your body from injury, frailty and age-related muscle loss

If you’re ready to get stronger, leaner and feel more in control of your health — your training approach needs to reflect that.

Been asked a lot recently what are differences are between a Steam and Sauna, so here we go...

Steam vs Sauna – What’s the Difference & Why Should You Care?

Let’s break it down simply 👇

Sauna = dry heat (usually 70–100°C)
Steam room = wet heat (around 40–45°C with 100% humidity)

Both get you sweaty, but the science shows they work slightly differently, and both can be game changers for your recovery, performance and overall wellness.

✅ Benefits of Saunas
🔸 Improves cardiovascular health – Regular sessions have been linked to lower blood pressure and a reduced risk of heart disease (JAMA Internal Medicine).
🔸 Boosts muscle recovery – Dry heat improves blood flow and eases DOMS (delayed onset muscle soreness).
🔸 Brain health – Studies show regular sauna users may reduce their risk of dementia and Alzheimer’s.
🔸 Stress relief – Helps lower cortisol, supports better sleep and mental clarity.

✅ Benefits of Steam Rooms
🔸 Clears your airways – Brilliant for respiratory issues like congestion, asthma, and sinus pressure.
🔸 Skin detox – The humidity helps open pores and promote healthy, glowing skin.
🔸 Joint pain – Steam helps loosen up stiff joints, especially helpful for those with arthritis or chronic pain.
🔸 Post exercise recovery – Rehydrates the skin and muscles and helps reduce fluid retention.

💡Which one’s better?
It depends on what your body needs!
➡️ After a heavy lift session? Sauna might be your go-to.
➡️ Fighting off a cold or want to relax tight chest muscles? Steam’s your friend.
➡️ Want both? Alternate sessions are a power combo.

Your wellness journey isn’t just about the gym floor – it’s also about recovery, restoration and giving your body what it actually needs to feel its best. 🔁

Have you tried either of these as part of your routine?
