This little battlers paid us proud again as always! Player of the match was Eben who helped contribute our our clean sheet, moved the ball really well and made some great tackles at the back.

Another day, another game… ⚽️

Our little ballers, fresh off the back of their tournament victory yesterday played a friendly tonight at Ford Hub. After successful back to back promotions playing a year up since Xmas, we decided we want to keep our eye on against bigger more physio opponents playing a year up against under 8s in friendlies where we can.

Tonight, was our first outing and the boys again did us all proud. The way they’re starting to gel and move the ball around as a team is a real joy to watch 😍😍😍 Some of the one/two passing, runs off the ball, head up playing teammates into space and clinical finishing was great to see! Even better than we were yesterday! 🙌

We tried out new positions and swapped keepers around tonight too and came away with another victory scoring 6 goals in the process!

Goals tonight were from…

🏆🥇 WHAT A DAY!!! 🥇🏆

Wow! What can we say? Today was amazing to see that boys come together and win their first tournament as outright winners! 🏆

A tough start in a game we dominated with great passing until the half way mark saw us start with a defeat, but the bounce-back-ability, tenacity and determination shown by our little warriors was a joy to see! A 7-0 and 3-2 win in the group stages was followed by another 7-0 won in the semi final where everything clicked and the football we were treated to was excellent for new under 7s. We moved to the last game and faced the side that beat us in the first game in the final itself - with a chance to put our performance right from game 1.

Fluid, passing football saw us dominate possession in the final, frustrating and limiting the opposition to no shots on target and we could have had several goals ourselves, had it been for more relaxed finishing in front of goal in the first half and a great little goalkeeper. But we kept going and never once let up and grabbed victory via a one nil win!!!

Overall tournament winners and a delighted set of young lads, parents, families and coaches too! 🏆

And just like that in the blink of an eye….. 🌅

Yesterday saw us celebrate a year to the day since our little grafters played their first ever friendly match (pic in black), tonight saw us play our last game as an Under 6 side playing a “year up” in the RFYL at Under 7 and we sealed it with such a mature performance and win against older, bigger, more physically imposing boys.

⛄️ Since we joined the league in the Winter Cup, when each of the teams lined up, you may of thought our boyos don’t look as tall or as big as their opponents, but there is not one side they’ve played where they’ve backed down or not given as good as they have got and more often than not have been the side coming out on top, not just in the battles, but in the quality football they play. Honestly it’s been a joy to watch and tonight’s win, the way they moved the ball, went toe to toe in battles, movement on and off the ball just summed up how much they have developed this last 12 months 💥

A promotion from the last league they played in and a division higher in the Spring Cup that finished tonight, we have only been beaten once in a single game and whilst we haven’t seen any league tables, we believe we finished second. The team that won the league were a team that suffered their single and only defeat to us a couple of weeks back after a superb performance from our lads, an achievement in itself! 🔥 🥅 If we weren’t coming back to play in our own age group we would have had back to back promotions!

Our lads love playing together and they’re learning all the time. We can’t wait to see them in their own age group and we’ll continue to play friendlies and tournaments where possible against older opposition to keep them on their toes! 🙌

For now, we’ll say a huge thank you to the boys for their hard work, to the parents and families for supporting them and of course our sponsors DH Car Sales, Chloe & Liam Together Forever Trust and Pathway Soccer for their continued support!

A huge thank you to Scott, Dave and Gregg who keep things organised and keep pushing the boys to be the best versions of themselves on and off the field.

Finally a thank you to Trev and Herrington FC for bringing this fanstaic set of youngsters together over a year ago - we hope we’ve done you proud as your under 6 development team and we can’t wait to start our journey tomorrow as formal Under 7s! Up the Herra! 💚♥️

Another great end to a footballing week yesterday! 🔥

The boys played some superb stuff again and scored 5 goals in a good win. After going a goal down early we saw great work rate and some really well worked team goals.

🏆 We saw Jimmy pick up Player of the week for his fantastic performance in goal in the second half pulling off great saves and distributing the ball really well that led to a great team goal too. He was also working very hard for his teammates up and down the wing and in midfield during the first half.

🏆 Training this week was (as always) full of graft and our trainer of the week was Eben (aka The Rock) who’s high work rate, great touches and passing were excellent to watch.

The Grafters are back in action tomorrow morning!!! 🌅

It’ll no doubt be a hot one so bring your sun cream and water!!! 💦 ☀️

Last week we suffered our first defeat of the spring cup despite a battling performance we went down by a single goal deficit against a very big and physical side. Whilst the boys were naturally disappointed, we always remind them that we entered this league to develop and get that experience against older opposition.

As usually they never gave up and played some lovely football out from the back. 🏆 Teddy was player of the match 🔥 and we had really well worked goals from - Charlie, Evan and Harry ⚽️⚽️⚽️

Attention turned to a tough training session on Wednesday where again the levels of work, determination and physicality really shone through! 🏆 Jimmy was out trainer of the week! 🔥

Only a few games left before we go back to playing about own age group with 2 seasons of playing a year up under our belt, which will no doubt hold us in really good stead!!! 💥

What a weekend for the grafters!!! 💥

After Saturday’s great performance in the leagues we were back in action early Sunday morning against a strong Chester Le Street United Sunday side in a friendly at Ashbrooke.

Parents and supporters were treated to an absolute goal fest over x4 15min quarters with no less than 23 goals scored and some very very good football being played end to end by both sides.

Again the Herra boys were found to be putting into practice what we’ve been drilling them hard at in training again! Quality movement off the ball and with it again some great passing phases and a never say die attitude and work rate! After a couple of stop/start weeks it was nice to get a few more minutes in the tank for the boys aswell in an hour long game..

We were nothing short of excellent yesterday and it so rewarding for the coaches and parents to see it all coming together 🔥🔥🔥

What a game for the grafters today! 6 goals and a clean sheet against a big physical side! Graft was exactly what each and everyone did all game graft!

Head coach Scott was missing today so it was over to Dave and Gregg who are absolutely over the moon with the boys today!

Brilliant defending, build up play passing phases and some excellent finishes against a strong, physical team. We could really see Wednesday’s training come through today and everything being put into practice.

We often forget that these lads are only 6 and are playing against opponents a year older but yet again, they did us all very proud today!

Well done to Charlie and Harry in goal for the clean sheet 🧤 and also the defenders who hardly gave the opposition a chance.. well done our rock Eben at the back on his motm performance too💪🏻 some brilliant tackling grit determination and balls out from the back to set the attacks away…

We could go on for ages 🤣 but we are back at it tomorrow morning in a friendly against a strong Chester-Le-Street United Youth Football Club Sunday side!

Well done boys and enjoy the rest of your weekend.. see you all tomorrow for the friendly… 💪🏻

Apologies for the lack of posts the last two weeks. We unfortunately had another game cancelled last week so it feels like a while since we’ve been in action ⚽️

Tomorrow sees us back in the current Under 7 RFYL, only a few weeks left until we go back to our own age group in September. Whilst results have not been importnant for us during this development period, we are currently unbeaten after promotion in winter cup and the spring cup has been great success so far - the boys are loving their football and playing with smiles on their faces! 😃

Training the last two weeks has been really intense and we as coaches are loving the development we are seeing.

A huge well done to Evan and to Teddy who have both won “Trainer of the week” over the past two sessions! 🔥

We can’t wait to get back to game time tomorrow, plays a friendly Sunday and a moving rearranged game that was missed when SAFC were at Wembley too! 🏆

Watch this space for more updates and upcoming tournaments, we have a big summer of development ahead of us getting ready to join grading leagues at our own age group in September 💥

🔥Midweek Magic 🔥

So proud of the grafters tonight! ✊ Missed our usual training session to play FC Hartlepool Under 7s (same as us Under 6s playing a year up), in a rearranged game in the RFYL from a week gone Saturday.

We had a great game against FC Hartlepool a couple of months back in the winter league where they came out on top, so tonight was always going to be a really tough test as they’re still unbeaten in the league since forming back in the winter season and in the Spring Cup.

After a great start for the Herra, it was really end to end stuff and the standard of footy from two teams of 6 year olds was excellent to watch. Goals galore as at one point we found ourselves up by 5 but FC Hartlepool kept coming and never stopped pushing us hard. There were real physical battles all over the pitch, superb feet, passing and finishing all on show. Honestly a joy to watch both sides!!! 💙

Whilst scores are far from important at this age, the supporters, parents, families and friends were treated to no fewer than 16 goals in an all out battle.

Some words from our gaffa Scott “Just the 16 goals scored in tonight’s game, that’s a goal every 112.5 seconds 🤣 Some brilliant stuff from the grafters tonight against tough opposition. The usual from them; work rate was excellent, getting stuck in and the final ball at times was a pleasure to see.

Well done Harry on his man of the match performance; he scored some great goals, used his body and strength well to roll opposition players and picked out some lovely passes.
🙌 ⚽️❤️💚”

We were delighted to come out as winners on the night against real talented side 🙌

A huge well done to the FC Hartlepool boys who made the journey up to see us at Ashbrooke tonight.

Up the Herra! 🔴

A cracking performance to round of our first ever mini season yesterday! 👏

The boys have really done us all proud playing a year up since January! We’ve had hard fought wins, draws and very tight defeats but it’s all been part of a fantastic learning experience. Roll on to next season starting in a few weeks!

Yesterday we scored 4 brilliant goals in a cracking performance that saw lots of our hard work in training come together… we even managed to grab some video clips from one of our supporters keep an eye out for our reel coming soon). Some outstanding play from a bunch of 6 year olds 💚

Player of the match was Teddy who worked really hard up and down the wing, really physical and great passing to his teammates 🔥

Trainer of the week was Jimmy who also put in an outstanding all action performance in defence yesterday too 🔥
