Earlier this week we celebrated St. Patrick's Day with an afternoon full of Irish themed entertainment, music, and lots of fun. The residents were challenged with fun questions about Irish culture, history and traditions. We played Irish carpet bowls using a swede for a Jack and potatoes as bowls, there was a lot of laughter as the potatoes have a mind of their own.! We also shared some funny limericks and even created some our own.

We enjoyed a lovely outing to Harrogate, where we spent time admiring the stunning displays of blooming crocuses that filled the gardens with vibrant colour. After taking in the beautiful scenery and enjoying a gentle stroll, we continued our day with a delicious lunch at Weetons in Pannal, making it a relaxing and memorable trip for everyone.

Grove House residents gathered together on 1st March for a special themed afternoon to celebrated St. David's Day with music, a Welsh quiz & History session while enjoying Welsh treats including the delicious teisen lap Cake made by our lovely volunteer Elissa, who originated from Wales.
Residents spent the afternoon doing flower arrangements using daffodils, sharing stories, and enjoying a cheerful sing-along that brought everyone together.

We brought together a group of music enthusiasts for a listening session dedicated to Chopin’s remarkable works. Several of the Nocturnes were familiar to many of the residents, offering gentle and beautifully played piano pieces. After listening for about an hour, we paused for tea and buns before returning to enjoy more of Chopin’s wonderful music.

Grove House was transformed with colorful fan decorations as residents enjoyed a festive party for Chinese New Year, with delicious food delivered by New George's Place in Silsden, a quiz, music, and a chopsticks activity. The residents participated in taking turns sharing their fortunes with the group by opening the fortune cookies and reading their prophecies.
The celebration offered everyone the opportunity to experience traditional customs and embrace a spirit of the Lunar New Year.
