I’m delighted to be speaking at the International Day of Persons with Disabilities Conference at the University of Greater Manchester on Wednesday, 3 December 2025.
I’ll be delivering the Neurodiversity Keynote, sharing insights, experiences, and the importance of creating environments where every neurodivergent voice is understood, valued, and included.
There will also be a range of stalls, networking opportunities, and showcases throughout the event, all promoting awareness, inclusion, and celebration for International Day of Persons with Disabilities.
If you’re passionate about accessibility, advocacy, and inclusion, I’d love to see you there.
Let’s keep pushing for meaningful change together. 💙♿

Great friends are those who lift you up when you’re down, listen when you need to let off steam, and stand with you through the tough times. They’re not just there for the highlights—they’re by your side in the moments that truly matter. Hold onto those friends and cherish them, because they’re the treasures that make life beautiful.

Change can be scary for various reasons:
1. Fear of the Unknown: Change often brings uncertainty, making people anxious about what the future holds and how it will affect their lives.
2. Loss of Control: When circumstances change, individuals may feel like they are losing control over their environment or situation, leading to feelings of helplessness.
3. Disruption of Routine: Many people rely on routines for comfort and stability, and change can disrupt these familiar patterns, causing discomfort and stress.
4. Fear of Failure: Embracing change often requires taking risks, and the possibility of failure can be intimidating, leading to hesitation in pursuing new opportunities.
5. Attachment to the Past: People may feel a strong emotional connection to their current circumstances, making it difficult to let go and move forward.
6. Social Pressure: The fear of how others will perceive their choices during periods of change can create pressure, leading to self-doubt and anxiety.
7. Adjustment Period: Adapting to change takes time and effort, which can be overwhelming, particularly if it involves significant life transitions.

These factors often contribute to feelings of apprehension and fear when facing change, despite its potential for positive outcomes.

The intense disconnect that you may experience between your thoughts and feelings are common aspects of being neurodivergent. They are also linked to emotional dysregulation in ADHD and autism.

A diagnosis for Autism or ADHD can be a huge event. It’s the moment that a lifetime of unexplained struggles, unique traits, and some confusing social dynamics finally gets recognised and named. However, with that comes a cascade of feelings that often circle around and these can collide with each other. This wheel illustration captures this in a clear and beautiful way. (Source: unknown)
