❤️A huge proud wife moment ❤️
I’m so incredibly proud of my husband for launching Elements of Mind. Over the past year, he has worked unbelievably hard, dedicating so much time to training, developing his skills, and supporting so many clients along the way. Watching his passion from the moment I met him, determination, and commitment to helping others has been inspiring, and I couldn’t be prouder of everything he’s achieved.
If you or someone you know is looking for help and support through EFT, hypnotherapy, or life coaching to name a few please check out Elements of Mind. Taking that first step isn’t always easy, but having the right support can make all the difference.
This is only the beginning, and I know amazing things are ahead for you. Please show some love and support by following and sharing his page ❤️✨
If you’re here, something has probably brought you to this point — and whatever that is, you’ve already taken a positive step simply by looking.
I’m David Gowans, founder of Elements of Mind, based in Inveraray. I offer an integrated approach to therapy, drawing on a range of therapeutic modalities and tailoring each session to the individual and their specific needs. No two clients are the same, and no two sessions need to be either.
I am an EFTi Accredited Certified EFT Practitioner, currently completing my Diploma in Clinical Hypnotherapy, integrating these approaches with transformational Life Coaching to support lasting positive change. My work draws on a range of therapeutic approaches depending on your goals, experiences, and individual needs, rather than working from a rigid formula or single method alone.
If you’re curious about what this could look like for you personally, feel free to get in touch.
My background is probably a little different from most practitioners you’ll come across. I’ve spent 22 years working on the frontline of emergency services — as a police officer and within the ambulance service — and I continue to serve as a Paramedic. I understand anxiety, stress, and trauma not just in theory, but as realities I’ve lived and worked alongside throughout my career.
I work with a broad range of issues and life challenges, with particular experience and understanding in:
💫Uniformed and operational services — I have a deep understanding of the pressures that come with uniformed service life: the culture, the cumulative toll, and the difficulty that can come with asking for help. Whether you’re a blue light professional, a veteran, serving in any uniformed capacity, or simply carrying the weight of the job, you’ll find a space here that understands without needing everything explained.
💫Anxiety and stress — whether it’s a constant background hum, something that stops you in your tracks, or burnout from running on empty for too long.
💫Phobias — from everyday fears to deeply rooted phobic responses.
💫Grief and loss — I lost my sister to cancer in 2007 and my father in 2021. I understand what it means to carry loss, and I offer a compassionate, grounded space to process it at your own pace.
💫Chronic conditions and pain — I was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis in 2023, which has given me a firsthand understanding of the emotional and psychological impact of living with a long-term condition. EFT and hypnotherapy both have a growing evidence base in supporting people living with chronic and acute pain, alongside conventional medical treatment.
These are just some of the areas I work with. If you’re unsure whether I can help with something specific, feel free to get in touch and we can have a conversation about it.
My approach is practical, straightforward, and built around you. Sessions are collaborative, we work at your pace, and there’s never any pressure to share more than you feel comfortable with.
I offer sessions both in person and online, giving you the flexibility to choose what works best for you.
As part of my commitment to professional practice, I engage in regular supervision and continuing professional development, helping ensure my work remains grounded, current, and ethically maintained.
Outside of practice, I’m a husband, father, and continuing frontline Paramedic — roles that keep me grounded in both everyday life and the realities of frontline service.
🎁 Free 20-minute initial consultation for all new clients — no obligation, no commitment. Just an opportunity to ask questions, get a feel for how I work, and decide whether we’re the right fit.

Whatever brings you here, you don’t need to have everything figured out. We’ll work through it together.
