We are a brand new centre offering a high quality elderly care facility in the heart of Greenock. We are located on King Street at the corner of Ann Street, and are the ideal place for people over the age of 65. This facility has been renovated to the highest standard and is easily accessible. There is a secure entry system and an electric gate protects the car park. As well as exceptional interio
r, there is also plenty to keep people occupied outdoors with an enclosed garden area with planting beds, patio space and there are plans for a green house in the future. Crown Care Centre and the outside area are also fully accessible for the disabled. Opening times are flexible from 9am – 8pm to meet the needs of the individual and their families and to help support those people who have been identified for a social need. Meals and refreshments are provided throughout the day. The Care Inspectorate passed the centre in January 2013 to provide this service. We want to help reduce the existing waiting list for day care, enabling people to get the necessary service more quickly. In order for individuals to access our day care, they must request this at initial assessment with either their care manager or key worker through the Self Direct Support channels, as this is the new legislation, which started in April 2014. This means that it is much easier than ever before for those in need of day care support to access it. New rules means local authorities have to offer people four choices on how they can get their social care allowance: 1- Direct payment: 2-The individual can direct the available support: 3- Councils arrange support (this is unfortunately where the waiting lists exist): 4- Or a mix of all three options. Crown Care Centre caters for a wide range of people including those with dementia, anxiety problems, depression or frail and elderly. Activities are tailored to each individual to keep users occupied and happy throughout the day, including reminisce and memory-based therapeutic activities, simple physical activity, group activity and social interaction. We also provide hairdressing, massages, chiropodist and manicures. Staffs are highly trained and qualified professionals experienced in moving and assisting, fire training, health and safety and food hygiene to give you peace of mind.
