People wanted to test their legs on a longer route, so this week we cycled to Dores! A great effort by all to ride there and back for a picnic in the wind! It was much easier going back! 😂🌬️

What a delightful cycle we had today! It was great to head somewhere new. We cycled from the UHI to Alturlie Point. It was a lovely relaxed cycle with a couple of road crossings that we navigated well, we even saw a seal! 🦭

We're taking a week break from the social ride now for holidays but we'll be back in August 🤗🚲

We've been hard at work looking for new routes for our Wednesday social ride. A new one for us to Alturlie Point has been rigourously checked to ensure it's enjoyable for the ride this Wednesday!

What a lovely cycle we had in the sun yesterday! A big group of 12 came out with us to ride around Inverness on an 'Active Travel Adventure'. We passed through town, up to the hospital then back down through the islands to our start point by the Botanics. Everyone managed to keep cool in the sun ☀️🚲☀️ Great job all!

Great to see an increase in people cycling in Aviemore :) 🚲

NEWS: National cycle counter data has revealed a rise in the number of people travelling by bike in Aviemore.

It’s among 34 locations across Scotland that saw increases of over 30% in the number of cycle journeys in winter 2024-25 compared with the previous year, with peaks in cycling around morning and evening commuting times.

Sally, an Aviemore resident who cycles to work every day, said: "It can often be quicker to travel around by bike. I no longer drive to work, and even if it's just a five-minute cycle, you feel so much better for getting outside."

John has just learnt to ride a bike after two individual sessions with one of our instructors. The smile on his face says it all!

Thanks to funding from Cycling Scotland the sessions are free, and we are able to lend you a bike and helmet. We can help anyone learn to cycle 😊 Congratulations John, on your achievement 🎉🚲😁

As well as being ace on a trike, Sila (a regular participant on our social rides) is also an amazing artist. She has generously offered to auction off one of her paintings to raise money for Velo City Inverness!

Everyone is welcome to join for the cycle and our puncture repair class. The cycle will be a social easy ride, suitable for beginners. We can bring along bikes and helmets for you to use 😁
