Well people, I finally had to start to take notice of all of the gypsy whispers after having had to spend a week in hospital and the upshot is that I have sold my business of Smallbrook Studio to my old friend and helper Hans Piorkowsky. Hans is taking on all my products and wishes to continue as I have for the foreseeable future.

The changeover took place at the end of this September.

I have had a lot of fun building what is now Smallbrook and had a lot of help from everyone, including yourselves on the way and have promised Hans that I am very happy to continue to master for him in the future - for a start, there are already more Emett kits in the pipeline!!

Thank you for all the support that you have given me so freely over the years and I can promise you that you have yet to hear the last from me!

Best wishes to you all Michael Rayner

It has only taken me about 12 years but I have finally finished 'Buttercup' - the pride of the herd. Another Gn15 Rowland Emett accessory kit to add to my range. All I now need to do is make a 'Milking Parlour Car' for her to ride in....
I hope you approve of her. Thanks for looking. MR

Quite a few years ago now, I visited the tourist attraction that is attached to Cornish Gold known a Tolgus Tin, well Mill they call it now and where they have a considerable collection of the old mill machinery used in the mines to separate the mineral from the gangue. If you are interested in Cornish Mining, it is well worth a detour.
Amongst all of the equipment was a tiny waggon fitted with, for want of a better term a 'hod' that could be tipped any way the operator chose, there was no label on it to say what it was used for but It cried out to be modelled and the other day, I found the picture that I took of it whilst I was looking or something else and so here it is, my version of it, that is.
What it was used for, I haven't a clue but I think that it was probably for collecting the mineral rich material from the various separating tables around the site.
It's now up on my website and the kit complete is for sale at £16.00.
Thank you for looking. MR

I have just added a new '0' gauge kit to my range. The LBSCR Single Bolster SR Diagram 1616, three of which survive preserved at Havenstreet, here on the Isle of Wight.
The kit is in my usual vacuum cast polyurethane resin and includes Dapol wheels, their screw link couplings and good clear instructions on building and painting and is complete except for glue, paint and transfers. The price, due to the screw couplings is that bit more at £35.00 each with UK postage £4.00 per order and postage to foreign parts, tracked at cost.
These vehicles were usually used in pairs but were used on the Island in rakes up to five long for carrying rail and so hence the use of screw couplings.

Here's another beast in the stable, this time a 1/24 Mercedes 'G' class mounted on railway wheels. Again a Maisto radio controlled model which I have converted to G1, this model is close to 1/24 and is complete with its correct controller and box and is now on sale on my website in new condition. Forward and reverse and a spare control that could be used for a horn, it runs well on Chinese plastic track.
