• 🧍 Better joint health
• 💓 Heart and lung benefits
• 😴 Better sleep
• 🧠 Reduced stress and anxiety

Headaches Explained 🧠
Not all headaches are the same — here are the most common types:
🧩 Tension-type headaches:
• Tight band feeling
• Linked to posture, stress, or muscle tension
⚡ Migraine:
• Moderate–severe pain
• May include nausea, light/sound sensitivity or visual changes
🎯 Cervicogenic headache:
• Pain starting in the neck and referring to the head
• Often aggravated by neck movement
💡 Osteopathy may help with some forms of headache by addressing contributing muscular or joint tension, lifestyle triggers and movement patterns.
🚨 Seek urgent help if headaches are sudden, severe without cause, or accompanied by neurological symptoms

What Is Sciatica? 🔥
Sciatica isn’t a diagnosis — it’s a symptom.
It refers to pain caused by irritation or compression of the sciatic nerve.
Common symptoms include:
• 🔥 Sharp, shooting pain down the leg
• 🦵 Numbness or tingling
• 💪 Weakness in the leg or foot
• 🌧 Symptoms may worsen with sitting, lifting, or bending
Common causes include:
• 🧱 Disc irritation
• 🧵 Tightness in surrounding muscles
• 🪑 Prolonged sitting
• 🧘 Postural or movement stress
💡 Osteopathy can help assess which structures are involved and support recovery with treatment, movement advice, and gradual return to normal activity.

Desk Posture Myths vs Facts 💻
Let’s clear up some common misconceptions:
❌ Myth: There is one “perfect posture.”
✔️ Fact: The best posture is your next posture- movement is better than any fixed position.
❌ Myth: Slouching always causes pain.
✔️ Fact: Slouching sometimes irritates tissues, but pain is usually due to staying in one posture too long.
❌ Myth: You need expensive ergonomic equipment.
✔️ Fact: Helpful but not essential - regular movement and varied positions matter most.
✨ Osteopathy can help you understand how your daily habits affect your body.

Is Clicking/Cracking Your Back Safe?
Many people ask this!
💡 The “crack” isn’t bone moving - it’s gas releasing from the joint, known as cavitation.
This can temporarily relieve stiffness, but:
⚠️ Be mindful:
• Doing it forcefully or repeatedly can irritate joints
• Twisting beyond your comfort range can strain soft tissues
• It doesn’t fix the cause of tightness or pain
✔️ Osteopaths use skilled, controlled techniques when joint manipulation is appropriate - never forced.

What Is Osteopathy?
👋 Thinking about trying osteopathy but not sure what it actually is?
Here’s a simple breakdown:
🦴 Osteopathy focuses on the whole body - muscles, joints, ligaments, nerves & circulation.
🤲 Practitioners use hands-on techniques to improve mobility and support the body’s ability to heal.
🧠 It’s regulated and evidence-informed, suitable for people of all ages.
Osteopathy can help with:
• 💥 Back and neck pain
• 🧱 Joint stiffness
• 🧵 Muscle tension
• 🧘 Postural strain
• 👶 Pregnancy-related discomfort
• 🏃 Sports-related aches
✨ It’s gentle, tailored, and aims to restore optimal function - not just treat symptoms.

✨ Why resting doesn’t always fix pain ✨
We’re often told to “just rest” when something hurts… but sometimes rest can actually make things feel worse. Here’s why 👇
🟡 Muscles can tighten when you stop moving
When you rest too much, the muscles around the painful area can stiffen, making movement harder when you start again.
🟡 Joints like movement
Gentle movement keeps joints nourished and mobile - complete rest can slow recovery.
🟡 The body needs circulation to heal

Movement improves blood flow, reduces tension and helps tissues repair.
So the magic is usually in the middle ground:
💪🏻Do move - but gently
💪🏻Don’t push through sharp pain
💪🏻Keep things mobile, comfortable and steady

Osteopathy can help by:

✨ Easing muscle tension
✨ Supporting better posture and movement patterns

The techniques in these photos are examples of how we might work with your body to reduce tension and restore movement.
