Lisa Lillicrap Counselling

Lisa Lillicrap Counselling I am a fully qualified Counsellor registered with the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and I am fully insured. What does this mean?

I am also a fully qualified Youth and Community Practitioner and over 18 years work with children, young people and their families aged 12 years +. I am passionate about supporting others where experiences have impacted how they live their lives. I believe everyone has the ability to express, control and understand your thoughts and, where times seem difficult, we will work at a gentle pace to explore what is going on. I am an integrative Counsellor drawing upon different approaches that include CBT, Person Centred Therapy, Gestalt and Mindfulness. My approach enables me to work with you to support your needs. This may include past experiences, managing 'today' or working through stressful times and finding ways to cope. I offer a safe, non- judgemental space and therapy to support you to live the life you want.

Today marks World Menopause Day raising awareness to improve health and wellbeing and to get people talking about it.

Why don't we talk enough about this?? Is this something we have to go through and experience and THEN figure it out.

We can prepare openly for many changes in our lives, a wedding, a baby, a house move! But menopause? Many taboo subjects attached to stigma stops conversations such as this.

When Oestrogen levels drop, other symptoms start to kick in. Lets prepare for that!

''Menopause is not a disease, but the next stage of your life''

Bodies change, we as people change. Growth can be AMAZING!

Today marks World Mental Health Day- a day about promoting positive change for mental health.
Although we can do this every day, today is a reminder that:

✨ It's OK to talk
✨ Encourage conversation and check in with someone
✨ Be curious- This is also about beating stigma!
✨ Prioritise yourself.

'Talking about YOUR mental health is important. Talking ABOUT mental health is too'.

How are you? Always a good place to start.

'Being right on time' like seasons. We go through our life cycle where at times may need more patience, care or attention than others. Autumn is a reminder that we have our own rhythm, timing and possibly need to shed what we don't want to carry anymore.

Throughout October through to the New Year, I am promoting Block Bookings. Although this has always been an option, I have had several questions about bookings, payments especially with seasonal events over the next few months.

I always found this the difficult part- talking about fee's.

Having a good network has always been so helpful and this topic came up again where we sit justifying a service that many clients or other professionals may not know about- because it is not always talked about.

My fees are:
£60 per hour face to face 💰
£50 online 💰
£45 an initial appointment 💰

What is included- what are contributions?
✨ Room hire
✨ Insurance contributions
✨ Governing Body
✨ Monthly supervision
✨ Online platforms
✨ Directories.
✨ Research.

All of this adds value to ensure you are getting the most out of therapy.

A lot of training, studying and Continual Professional Development happens within our own time.

It is also representing an area of practitioners who support each other and are passionate about the work we deliver.

I always wanted Counselling to be as accessible as possible, that doesn't always mean affordable for many. I was asked about bookings and offers from previous times and over the next week I will be looking at this again.

know your worth, even if at times it feels uncomfortable.

'Autumn shows us how beautiful it is to let things go'.

I love this season, getting out into the garden and shedding the year away. Clearing things of what worked and certainly what didn't and creating space that is quite often needed.

✨ Always leave room to bloom!

Feeling in the thick of exam season?

Work/ life balance tipping?

Added stress and pressure can lead to feeling trapped. Everyone has different abilities (strengths/ weaknesses?) And it can be easy to get lost in what other people expect from us as individuals- including our own expectations.

🌟 Learning from experience is a huge source of knowledge that we often view as 'failure'.

🌟 Maybe it's time for a new discovery and embrace who you are?

🌟 Difference is what makes you, you and that is amazing!

🌟 Mistakes happen, it's how we can learn- that is ok! Speaking and working through things can offer a new way of looking at something, or get some clarity.

'We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them' (Albert Einstein).
