Pre- school, Primary, Secondary and more. Lots of talk this week around the September changes alongside expectations or worries for the future. 'Please stop growing, or not quite ready'

The end of a chapter and starting a new one can also leave a hole, questions of purpose or 'what now?' Well... What now?

We are not being left behind, we are growing with them.

''You'll never drag yourself from starting to worry about something. But you can stop yourself from letting those worries drag you into a parade of worries that take control of your mind''. Mel Robbins.

I imagine we can all think of times (maybe unaware of those times) that our feelings dictate our actions. This doesn't always need to be negative- but when it comes to things we should do, but we don't because our feelings 'get in the way' it can leave a trail of habits that snowball.

I was reading this wishing I found it 20+ years ago, it all started with a CD... A CD!

I failed my first driving test and someone gave me a CD and said 'I bought this incase you passed so you can play it in your new car' and I was given it anyway. I later felt it jinxed me!

In work at the time, not receiving funding bids for projects- 'what did I do differently? Oh I listened to a new album', better not do that!. How does this sound?

This was my snowball of anxiety and catastrophic thoughts that went on for years- unspoken and spiralled. But to pin point it, listen to it and 5.4.3.2.1 go! Is something similar I've always worked within both personally and professionally and 20 years later I can't shout out enough about it.

This book helps with just that!

Happy to share and worth the read! After all..

''so what if you suck, at least you tried''

Congratulations 🎊 this amazing lady who has been nominated for the Westcountry Women Awards. Please have a read about them and see the amazing difference they makexx

Our Founder, Jane Frajbis, has been nominated for A West County Women Awards for 'The Women in Health Wellbeing Award'

Jane set up Pregnancy Crisis Care in 2008 - a charity that offers free and confidential counselling and support to anyone suffering a pregnancy-related crisis, including miscarriage, stillbirth, fertility issues, newborn death and pregnancy support. The charity receives no statutory funding, and she works tirelessly to source funding through grant applications and fundraising events. Jane supports the small team around her in a caring and selfless way. The fact that the charity is still running and supporting over 200 people a year is a testament to her hard work, commitment, and passion for making a difference in supporting people in their darkest times. Thank you, Jane, for all you do!

More information on her journey for the nomination as we have them! Join us in congratulating her for all she does for us.

Struggle with saying no?

People pleasing as it can feel easier?

FOMO is real, going beyond 'capacity' and feeling tired already as juggling the daily on top of keeping up with everyone else, can at times leave us feeling behind.

You can be a kind person and say NO
You are likeable and can still disagree with people
You can prioritise your needs and still care about others.

This is about boundaries!

I get asked 'what if I need to come back in the future- is this something you do?'

YES!

Endings within counselling sessions are done with consideration and reflection and I hope you continue to flourish.

This may include a check-in if needed. There is no expectation or pressure to do so and it is equally important to put it out there that checking in, having a reset or space to reflect on distance is equally important.

Hair/ nail appointments, the gym, the dentist... even the car has an MOT. The same for your mental health is important because YOU are important. Let's check in!

This evening's stroll for pressing the Reset button.

My clients will often hear me talk about 'capacity'. Lots of things crossed my mind;

✨ Give yourself permission! Take a break, say NO, take time for you!
✨ Check your own battery levels, it's OK to unplug for a while and do something that recharges you.
✨ It can be easy to fall down the rabbit hole. Taking time to pause and feel grounded can have a way of helping you to restart when ready.

Feeling in the thick of exam season?

Work/ life balance tipping?

Added stress and pressure can lead to feeling trapped. Everyone has different abilities (strengths/ weaknesses?) And it can be easy to get lost in what other people expect from us as individuals- including our own expectations.

🌟 Learning from experience is a huge source of knowledge that we often view as 'failure'.

🌟 Maybe it's time for a new discovery and embrace who you are?

🌟 Difference is what makes you, you and that is amazing!

🌟 Mistakes happen, it's how we can learn- that is ok! Speaking and working through things can offer a new way of looking at something, or get some clarity.

'We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them' (Albert Einstein).

If we used our enegry into self belief or kindess for ourselves rather than worry or stress, so much more can heal and grow.

Life isn't always perfect, however together we can make progress.
