🔥 Let me de-influence you 🔥 You don’t NEED a special babywearing coat or cover. If you have a baggy cardigan or jacket, this will keep both you and your baby warm if you put it on over the baby carrier or wrap/sling. It costs nothing and does the job! So save your money and invest it in specialist knowledge instead (or Christmas gifts for your family) 🎄 If you would like some 1-1 babywearing support and guidance and live in Cheshire or North Staffordshire, my home consultations start from £40. And I’ll help you to avoid those clever sales strategies that the internet is full of! Happy Black Friday 🫠🖤

❄️ How to dress your baby for cold weather in the baby carrier. ❄️ Firstly, it’s NOT the same as a pram! It’s actually more similar to the car seat. Nothing bulky or padded. Less is more, and accessories and removable layers are perfect. If you’d like any other questions answering, or more tailored support, DM me or book onto one of my upcoming events in Cheshire or Staffordshire 🥰

❄️ CARRYING BABIES IN THE COLD ❄️ It’s getting cold out there 🥶 But my biggest FAQ at the moment from new mums is “What should I dress my baby in?”

❄️ When you’re using a baby carrier in cold weather, babies can still get rather warm, so what they wear isn’t the same as when they’re in a pram.

❄️ Layers of thin, removable clothing are best. Especially if you’re in and out of shops or warm buildings. Similar to baby car seat safety, avoid bulky or padded clothing, coats or snowsuits.

❄️ Being in a baby carrier automatically gives your baby the equivalent of 2 layers of clothing. Simply add socks, booties, gloves or hats to your baby to keep those limbs and extremities toasty and warm.

❄️ A simple blanket can also be draped over the sides of the carrier too, and easily removed without disturbing your little one. As always, be careful not to cover baby’s face. And my personal fave option is to simply wear an oversized cardigan, jacket or coat and then wrap this around you and your baby, and cocoon them in a lovely hug 🥰

❄️ Do you have any questions or concerns about using baby carriers in cold weather? Please share in the comments, or if you’d rather DM me in private, I’d be more than happy to help 🙂

❄️ You can buy special babywearing coats or covers and there’s nothing wrong with these, but they aren’t essential and you
