💙 I had the pleasure yesterday of joining the Ability Case Management CPD session, where I delivered training on trauma informed practice.
Many thanks for the invitation Dave Lowe lovely to meet your knowledgeable & welcoming team, who shared their extensive experience of supporting clients & their families following traumatic events. We reflected on the far-reaching impacts of psychological trauma for our clients & their families – not least the events surrounding their neurological injury/diagnosis, but also trauma related to their acute/post-acute care, & the possible psychological impacts of any litigation process. Your service already integrates many aspects of trauma-informed practice – your regular CPD sessions & reflective practice to name a few.

⭐️Many thanks Paul Brown for the invite to last Fridays (United Kingdom Acquired Brain Injury Forum) quarterly meeting.
⭐️Thank you for the warm welcome from The Fire Fighters Charity for hosting the event.
😍Fantastic facilities in a beautiful setting, including corporate rooms, self-catering accommodation & rehabilitation facilities for hire. The aquatic therapy pool & rehabilitation gym were impressive.
⭐️A thought-provoking talk from Professor Charlie Whiffin about the work of and the importance of keeping the needs of families at the heart of brain injury rehabilitation. This for me reiterates the importance of providing brain injury rehabilitation, which by its nature, would consider the whole system around the person with the brain injury.
⭐️Informative updates from Calvert Reconnections including outcomes for this innovative service, & an introduction to Owl Barn. These services share the ethos of the benefits of -rehabilitation and the outdoors.
