There are still a couple of spaces available; weād LOVE to have you there with us!
We (myself and Heidi ) are here to bring you plenty of nourishing movement, time to be still and ponder, opportunities for a dip or swim, yummy cake, hot tea, guided breathwork and meditation in natureā¦
We have been working together for about three years and I have seen them evolve and grow in a way that you hope will be true for anyone you might have the privilege of spending time with.
They are (text books might say as being) my āideal clientā, from a trauma-informed somatic perspective.
From our early days of trauma-informed somatics (functional / intuitive / embodied movement, somatic breathwork, guided meditation and relaxation) in order to support them through some serious challenges⦠to nowā¦
⦠still incorporating somatic awareness of body, heart, mind, spirit⦠but they are now strength training with me and developing great skill with the kettlebell.
The healing journey continues and it has not been plain sailing; it has been a slow, steady path but they have committed to their whole-body wellbeing and the human before me, embodies SOMATIC STRENGTH.
They are one empowered being and I am grateful to be witness to their strength.
If you are looking for a more somatic way to strength train, to support you through lifeās challenges or trauma that you may be experiencing⦠I have a couple of spaces in September for regular clients.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Much love,
Lou xx
Personally, I try not to focus on regrets and what was, so when a student or client says to me that they wish they had started āMOVINGā before now⦠I try to gently remind them that weāre moving now.
And when we move in response to what our whole, somatic body is needing⦠that is where the magic happens!

My name is Lou Curry; I am a mum to two boys and a trained primary school teacher.
I started Evolve Yoga Cumbria because I want to share my passion for yoga with every ābodyā; no matter their age, religion, ethnicity, ability, sexual orientation, body shape, social background etc....
Yoga is about listening to your body and working at whatever level is right for you, on any given day - finding the balance between challenging yourself and being loving towards yourself and, connecting to the innate power and beauty of your own body and mind.
A yoga practice teaches us to mindfully move and connect with our breath, which leads us to be mindful and present in our daily tasks. It teaches us the freedom to be still and it connects us, one to another.
The āMindful Movementā adult class is for all ages/abilities and beginners are most welcome. We focus on creating stillness in slow, longer-held postures which gently stretch the body, and improve flexibility and joint mobility. We learn how to find alignment in poses; incorporate some basic breathing techniques and build strength slowly.
The āMindful Flowā adult class is for those with previous yoga experience. The focus is on synchronising the movements of the body with the flow of breath, including options to modify and deepen your poses. An energising and joyful practice which will nurture body, mind and soul.
The āMindful Strengthen and Stretchā adult class is for all abilities and beginners are most welcome. In this class, we will break down postures into their individual parts and focus on making sure we are aligned to suit the functional needs of our own unique bodies. Through this, we will carefully build strength and balance. We will also ensure to gently extend through the body and finish with a relaxation.
My childrenās yoga classes are inclusive and tremendous fun; weaving together yoga, creativity, playfulness and mindfulness into one. They include yoga poses, music, breathing exercises, relaxation, partner poses and cooperative games. The aim is to empower children, teens and young people to develop a deeper sense of body awareness, strength, flexibility, co-ordination, self exploration, respect and interpersonal skills.
I always include pranayama (breath work), meditation and relaxation in all my classes. By the end of each class, I hope that you / your child, will feel more open and refreshed, energised and relaxed, peaceful and positive.
