🏡 Unique Senior Care provides outstanding domiciliary care services across the Midlands and live-in care across England 🤝
Unique Senior Care, established over 12 years ago, is a local family-owned provider of tailored domiciliary home care for adults over 18, aiming for independence at home. We provide care from 1 hour a week to 24 hour live in care. Directed by quality-focused owners, we're CQC-regulated and rated ‘Outstanding’. Our service is bespoke, ensuring safety, care, responsiveness, and effectiveness. We hire selectively, requiring candidates to pass the 'Mum Test' for high standards. We offer companionship, household help, and personal care through matched Hourly or Live-In carers. Services are available to NHS-funded, local authority, or self-funded clients, collaborating with families and medical teams for optimal care.

Earlier this week, our Co-Founder and Director, Phil, and Operations Director, Helena, attended the Nourish Data & AI Conference at Bletchley Park 🧠📊
The day focused on how data and emerging AI tools are supporting better decisions, stronger outcomes and more person-centred care, using practical, real-world examples from across social care.
One message came through clearly 👇
Data and AI are not about replacing the human touch. They are about strengthening it.
As we shape our own roadmap, these tools will help us:
• Improve quality and safety through better insight and early warning signs 🔍
• Reduce admin so teams can spend more time on meaningful care ⏱️
• Turn real-time data into action and keep care personal and responsive ❤️
Thank you to the Nourish team for a thoughtful and forward-thinking day 🙌

Begin your journey in care - we’ll teach you everything you need to know.
We couldn’t have put it better ourselves. Thai joined us with just one month of care experience and says the training gave her the confidence to feel ready to work as a Caregiver 🏠🧡
Two years on, Thai brings her background as a trained Psychologist into her role every day. She’s always wanted to work with people, and as she says, you can really see the difference you make in someone’s day.
If you’re thinking about a role in care and want proper training, ongoing support, and work that feels meaningful, we’d love to hear from you 👇
Did you know we run three weekly Memory Cafés across Solihull and Leamington? ☕

A big well done to Jenny, our Care Supervisor in Solihull, who has been named January's Learner of the Month for her commitment to learning and doing things properly 👏📘
Jenny was recognised for her work transferring clients to a new care planning system. Alongside learning the system, she took time to really understand each person’s needs, resulting in clear, high-quality care plans that support safe, consistent care 🧡
This is a great example of the kind of Care Supervisors we’re proud to have. People who take ownership, care about the details, and put quality first.
Thinking about a role in care where learning is valued and support is ongoing? This is what that can look like ✨
A big well done to Lindah, who delivered a great Diabetes Management session at our team meeting last week 👏💙
After completing training herself, she shared practical guidance with the team to strengthen how we support people living with diabetes.
Good diabetes management plays an important role in staying well and independent. It helps reduce the risk of complications and supports day-to-day wellbeing 🩺🍎
Thank you, Lindah, for sharing your knowledge 🌟🤍

This week, the team took part in a hands on activity to reinforce the importance of good hand hygiene 👐
Using hand gel and a UV light, it quickly became clear which areas are easy to miss, with skin around the nails often needing extra attention 🔍
A special mention to Arjun, our Hand Hygiene Champion, who removed all the gel and passed the UV check with flying colours 👏
A simple but effective reminder of how careful handwashing helps reduce the spread of infection every day 💙

🎧 A new episode of The Care Podcast is out
In this clip, Angharad talks about the moment a single seizure led to a serious accident while she was walking on a cliff path in Cornwall. It’s something she doesn’t remember herself, but it changed her life and her family’s forever.
In the full episode, Angharad and her mum, Jo, share what living with epilepsy has really been like — from memory loss and loss of independence to the importance of safety, companionship, and having the right support in place.
Care Supervisor Kayleigh completed a back to the floor session last week at our Extra Care setting, Briar Croft, alongside our lovely Caregiver, Dawn.
Dawn and Carole kept spirits high with plenty of laughs while the double up team completed the call. A great example of calm, confident support in action 😊

There’s plenty of plotting on TV at the moment… but our kind of work couldn’t be more different 👀
While they’ve been busy recruiting Traitors, we’re recruiting something much better. Kind, dependable people who care about brightening someone’s day and making life a little easier for others. No secret missions. Just honest teamwork and real trust 🧡
If that sounds more like your kind of challenge, get in touch:
Thank you to Claire and Helen for delivering diabetes management training for our Wellbeing Champions last week 👏
It was a practical session and a helpful refresher, giving our team a stronger understanding of how to support clients safely and confidently 🧡

For our client, Olga, having a Live-in Caregiver in place has meant less pressure, more reassurance, and the confidence to step back knowing things are in safe hands. When care feels right, it supports the whole family, not just one person 🧡
Care is about showing up and helping someone through their day. Rain or shine 🌦️
It’s making sure someone feels well, comfortable, and cared for. And sometimes, it’s as simple as seeing a smile and knowing you’ve made a difference 🤗
That’s exactly what Jamal does as one of our Caregivers supporting people in and around Solihull.
📍 If you’re based in Solihull and thinking about a role in care, or you’re ready for a change, we’d love to hear from you.

Unique Senior Care was founded in 2011, by Philip Wright-Howarth and Philip Maundrill. Both have, at some point, been responsible for a loved one in need of care. At Unique Senior Care we therefore have an intimate understanding of what quality care should look like, and the peace of mind this brings to family members, as well as the person being cared for. This has been a key driver throughout the business’ history and continues to underpin all aspects of the work we do.
What makes us Unique?
It is without doubt the people we care for, our staff and the quality of the services we provide. Every member of our team shares the same ethos of putting ‘People, above all else’. We believe that by supporting older people to remain in their own home, we can enable them to live more fulfilling lives, and our care is always tailored to meet the individual needs of our clients. Families will have the peace of mind that their loved ones are in excellent hands. As a result, we have built a reputation as a care company that specialises in one thing: people.
Our care is unique and outstanding
Unique Senior Care’s blend of home care is based on providing a service which is the best quality it can be and which meets the needs of both our clients and their families. We are delighted, therefore, that the independent regulator of health and social care in England, the Care Quality Commission (CQC), has rated our service in Coventry South as Outstanding.
