A Hag stone can be any type of stone as long as it possesses a natural hole. They are considered by many a sacred object
and a protection amulet.
They have been known by many names historically, including Witch Stones, Adder Stones, Snake Eggs, Hex Stones, Fairy Stones, Holy Stones, Holeys, and Eye Stones.
Some believe that if you look through the hole in a fairy stone you will be able to see into the Kingdom of the Fairies.
Or if it was found on the beach looking through the hole at the sea will allow you to see mermaids.
In times gone by people would suspend their hag stone from a string In order to protect themselves or their possessions.
