Dispensary Update

From 1st September, our dispensary opening hours will be changing to: 🕘 09:00 – 12:00 🕑 14:00 – 18:00 These longer opening hours will enable us to better support our patients and provide improved access to our services.

Tirzepatide (Mounjaro®) for Weight Management – Patient Update

Tirzepatide (Mounjaro®) has recently been approved by NICE for weight management. However, it is not currently available for routine prescribing in GP surgeries.

The medication will be introduced gradually, beginning with individuals who meet specific clinical criteria. It must be provided as part of a comprehensive package of support, including diet and lifestyle changes (known as “wraparound care”).

We kindly ask that patients do not contact the surgery about Mounjaro® at this stage. GP practices are unable to prescribe it until local NHS services are fully prepared.

Emergency alert testing 7th September 2025
The national system for sending emergency alerts to mobile phones in the UK will be tested again this September, the government has said.

It will see compatible phones vibrate and make a siren sound for 10 seconds while displaying a message at 15:00 BST on 7 September, even if they are set to silent.

The alerts are intended for situations in which there is an imminent danger to life, such as extreme weather events or during a terror attack.

The government stresses that emergency alerts should remain switched on, but has published a guide for domestic abuse victims on how to opt out.
