After the death of a much loved man on 23rd October 2014, his family and friends set up Johnny's Happy Place. There are many people out there who, for one reason or another, through circumstance, are having a tough time. They might have anxiety issues, depression or just feel isolated. What we have done, with the help of some wonderful people, is created a beautiful cafe space as our base. Hot foo
d served 11.30-1.30. We would like to help those suffering with their mental health in and around Northamptonshire. The cafe space is run by volunteers and everything on offer is £1 with tea and coffee being free of charge. We are simply a safe and welcoming space, where people can come and sit for a couple of hours and read a book, have some homemade food, meet new people and hopefully smile and maybe have a laugh. There isn't much available at weekends for those suffering with mental health problems and this is why we are just open at weekends. We have a free art workshop every Saturday 12-2 and Creative Writing on a Sunday 12.45-2. These are free but you do need to sign up. We also have a drop in counsellor between 12-2 for you to see for free, should you need to talk. Don't be afraid to come on your own! A lot of people do come on their own but aren't on their own for long if they want company
