Bump 🤰🏼 ➡️ Baby 👶🏼 ➡️ Back together 💛

Five bumps.
Five babies.
One very special full-circle moment đź’•

I had the privilege of leading these women through antenatal Pilates… and also doing it alongside them 🤍

Now we’re reunited for Mummy & Me with our little sidekicks — navigating sleep deprivation, healing bodies, and rebuilding strength together.

There’s something really powerful about being both the instructor and one of the mums in the room.

Community matters. Support matters. Movement matters.

6–12 week postnatal rehab diary 🤍

This is the stage where most mums feel the pressure to be “back to normal.”

The 6 week check is done. You might feel better. Energy is improving. Bleeding has settled. You’re itching to move properly again.

But this phase isn’t about bouncing back.

It’s about allowing your body to heal in real time.

I’m now building strength back in — but I’m not skipping the foundations. I’m still doing the small Pilates-based exercises. Breath work. Deep core activation. Pelvic control. Slow, intentional movement.

Those pieces don’t disappear once you’re cleared to exercise.

They become the base layer.

Now I’m gradually adding load — sometimes that’s dumbbells, sometimes it’s my baby. Squats, split squats, bridges, carries. But the focus is the same:

Control first.
Then strength.

As a physio, I see what happens when this stage gets rushed. We live in a culture that celebrates “getting your body back” — but recovery isn’t a sprint. It’s a marathon.

Your tissues are still healing.
Your nervous system is still adapting.
Your pelvic floor and abdominal wall are still rebuilding capacity.

Strength built on a solid foundation lasts. Strength built too soon often leads to symptoms.

So for me, this phase is about patience. Progressive overload. Respecting healing timelines. Trusting the process.

Not bouncing back.
Building forward.

“Weeks 6–12 isn’t about ditching rehab.
It’s about layering strength on top of control. If you skip this phase, you’re building strength on instability.”

✨ Mummy & Me – Postnatal Pilates ✨

Our next block starts Thursday 26th February at 9.30. Mummy & Me classes are designed especially for the postnatal period — helping you rebuild strength safely while bonding with your baby 💛

Led by Women’s Health Physiotherapist Michaela, these classes focus on restoring your body after pregnancy and birth in a supportive, welcoming environment.

🤍 What we focus on:
✔️ Rebuilding deep core strength
✔️ Pelvic floor recovery
✔️ Healing abdominal separation (diastasis recti)
✔️ Improving posture & upper body strength (goodbye feeding aches!)
✔️ Reducing back, hip & pelvic pain
✔️ Gradual return to exercise safely

This is your time to recover properly — not just “bounce back,” but build a strong foundation for the years ahead.

🌿 Why having a Mummy MOT beforehand makes a difference:

If you’ve had a Mummy MOT before starting class, your programme becomes even more bespoke.

Your Mummy MOT assesses:
• Pelvic floor function
• Abdominal separation
• Core strength & coordination
• Scar healing (C-section or perineal)
• Posture & movement patterns

With this insight, Michaela can tailor exercises within the class to suit your specific needs — ensuring you’re progressing safely and effectively, rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach.

It’s expert-led rehabilitation in a relaxed, baby-friendly space 🤍

✨ Bring your baby
✨ Meet other mums
✨ Rebuild your strength with confidence

My Post-Natal Rehab Diary đź“”

Postnatal rehab doesn’t happen in a quiet room.

It happens between feeds, tantrums, and interrupted exercises.

This is me rebuilding my body—week by week—while raising a newborn and two toddlers. 🩷🩷🩵

If you’re in this season too, you’re not behind.
You’re doing something incredibly hard.

🤍 Save this for the days you need the reminder.
