From 12 stone & feeling so unfit & loosing myself .
I had become a different person .
This was not me.
I was driven and loved fitness , always active .
Everything was overwhelming & all I wanted to do was rest, sleep & comfort eat.
I thought that’s it , this is me forever now .
I didn’t want to be here .

Now I’m back to my self , feeling strong , fit & motivated . Driven in life , loving fitness again .

I want to help others & want you to know that it is possible. You won’t feel like this forever . It will get better & it will pass .
Please have patience & compassion for yourself.

You can get healthier & it is never too late to change .

You deserve to feel happy . ❤️❤️❤️

Doesn’t have to be in the gym

When I started my fitness journey again whilst loosing two stone , I workout at home for nearly 2 years before I set foot in the gym again .

I started out at just one workout a week , mainly body weight training then progressed to lighter weights or exercise bands , for cardio a short dance workout on utube or jumped on my rebounder .
But you find what works for you .
Find something you enjoy
But sometimes you have to push yourself , be disciplined but whilst also listening to your mind & body and what it needs .

Consistency is key

I made small changes at a time

I tried to walk for longer whist walking my dog

I did a stretching routine every day or yoga

I started to eat better & stopped comfort eating but not all at once , was gradual.

When you start prioritising yourself & realising you are important nothing gets in your way .

You are important & deserve self respect.
So start today not tomorrow or Monday .
Make exercise & movement a priority.

Exercise is in my daily schedule no matter what . Even if it’s just a stretch routine or yoga on my rest days .

So come on stop saying I’ll do it tomorrow.
You can do this! 🥰

Good morning everyone 😊 uk friends have a great bank holiday Monday.

Some stretching & a good breakfast then I’m going for a nice long walk today with my husband & pooch.

A walk in nature always works to destress & reset .

No gym today as I feel I need the rest .

You CANNOT spot reduce fat ……
Training a body part doesn’t burn fat from it .

You need to go into a calorie deficit , Body weight training or lifting weights so that you are feeling challenged . Wether that’s lifting heavy at less reps or lighter at more reps.
With body weight training , increase reps & progressions.

You can alternate between both to rev up your metabolism.
So if you’ve been lifting heavy for a few months , go lighter with more reps for a while! As long as you are going to near failure .

Only go to absolute failure on single muscle exercises ie , bicep curls , tricep extensions or leg curls etc

If you go to absolute failure on exercises using multiple muscles such as deadlift or Hip thrusts , squats you maybe more likely to injury. ( only do this if you are very experienced in weight lifting)

Stick to RPE - Rate of perceived Exertion ……going to 8 or 9 knowing you could of done one or two reps if necessary.

You also need to be doing some cardio each week , 1-2 x HITT a week , aim to get as much walking done as you can .
Do your cardio after your weight sesh . ( this depends on your goals ) or you could do cardio on the days your not lifting .
Cardio will also help you to be able to lift heavier =
Good heart health

Stay patient, there’s no rush . It takes time .
Concentrate on how strong your feeling and give yourself small goals .

A little preview of a quick warm up from my class . Why not have a go?
You can also hold onto a chair or table if you need support with balance whilst squatting . Or use a chair to lower down onto if needed .
There is always a way no matter what level you are .
I have chairs & tables in my class to use for support if needed & for regressions and progressions .
Let me know if you have a go….

Even if you just do this warm up every day to start of with . Every little helps . Small steps lead to bigger goals and achievements in the end .

The biggest accomplishment is lifting yourself up to go to the gym consistently even on days you don’t want to go.
Your not going to see results if your not consistent.
