Well, since my name has somehow been brought up in all of this even though I wasn’t there, I think it’s time I explain the truth.
Damo and the other adult did not grab or assault anyone. They were simply trying to protect Damo’s vulnerable parents, who have been harassed, abused, and terrorised for months since November 2024 by a group of lads. These lads, some as young as 14 or 15, have been
Climbing over fences into gardens
Throwing bricks, bottles, and other objects
Shouting abuse at disabled and elderly neighbours
Setting fires behind the bungalows
Even making threats involving knives!!
Damo’s mum is visually impaired and is among many elderly and disabled residents being targeted over and over again. Things have gotten so bad that some neighbours have had to book static caravans just to feel safe, and Damo’s parents have even had to stay away from their own home because they felt unsafe. This has all been reported to police multiple times.
On 29th June, one of the lads climbed over the wall yet again, even after being warned repeatedly. Damo and the other adult were there and confronted him. They asked where he lived so they could speak to his parents, but the boy refused to say, ran off, and threatened them with a knife. At that point, they had no choice but to use reasonable force to protect themselves.
There was no grabbing, no slamming, and certainly no assault the story going around is completely false. CCTV footage was posted online completely out of context to make it look like something it wasn’t. People were quick to judge based on one photo/video without seeing the full picture. Also, that footage was shared without consent, which is a breach of data protection laws & # a criminal offence.
To make matters worse, names were publicly posted alongside serious false accusations, which is likely defamation of character something we are now taking seriously. People don’t see the emotional and mental impact this has had on Damo’s family, trying to protect two disabled people in their own home and being painted as criminals. It’s disgusting and unfair. We have saved all evidence of the original post, the CCTV footage, and the names of those who have posted it. This will be reported to the police, because this is not just drama it’s illegal.
We’ve stayed quiet to protect the people we love. But now it’s time the truth was heard.
