Yin Yoga -slow paced, floor based practice designed to gently target the body’s deeper connective tissues, including fascia, ligaments, joints & tendons.
With longer held postures, anything from 3 -15 minutes this invites stillness allowing the body time to gradually respond & adapt.
Much like braces slowly guide the structure of teeth over months, Yin Yoga works patiently & progressively with areas such as the hips, shoulders & spine. Change happens over time through consistent, gentle stress rather than force, making it a safe & sustainable way to practice mobility & flexibility.
In a Sucram Yoga Yin class we use a “Goldilocks” approach - not too much not too little stress or tension, just enough for the body to respond positively. This balanced approach helps support healthy tissue adaptation while encouraging relaxation & ease. Beyond the physical benefits, Yin Yoga is also a deeply calming practice. The stillness, breath & mindful awareness creates space to release mental & emotional tension, helping feel grounded, restored & more connected to themselves.
