Have you ever repurposed a piece of clothing that was worn by someone you've lost?

We're *delighted* to announce our next meet at The Old London Road Cafe, Kingston.

If you're unsure what to do with that hoard of pennies in a sock at the back of the wardrobe ( only me? )when you shuffle off, then this is the place for you.

It's FREE (amazing right?! )but please do ping us an email if you'd like to come on down to Wills and Estates town. (I'll get my coat)

This week we welcomed the very lovely and knowledgeable Gemima from Poppy's Funerals to share her experience of working in the funeral industry. What Gemima doesn't know about them isn't worth knowing. We felt a sample of a mushroom coffin made by Loop Biotech - which everyone thought was incredible - and learnt what to do when someone dies and what happens afterwards.
Everyone learnt something they didn't already know and that ,my friends, is what we're all about at Coffin Club. We're already looking forward to our next get together.
Thanks again Gemima!

As you can probably tell I'm slightly obsessed with all things deathy - and that's not to say I'm morbid about it - far from it. There is SO much to learn about ritual and culture amongst other things and I am enjoying learning as much as I can about it - so I can share what I learn with you at Coffin Club.

This book isn't about getting your ducks in a row necessarily but it is a fascinating insight into the work mortuary teams do. I feel fortunate to work occasionally in a mortuary; looking after someones someone when they've died is an extraordinary privilege and the care we give the people in our care I know is greatly appreciated by their loved ones.

I managed to get the teen off the phone by giving her this weeks copy of BEST magazine which features ... me! (and also the glorious Stephanie Beacham) It's an article about my work in the death industry, from pall bearing ... to hearse driving ... and officiating funeral ceremonies as a Celebrant. I also talk about my passion for holding a safe space to have tricky conversations about death and dying which I why I set up SW LDN Coffin Club. Do grab a copy if you can ( if not for me at least for La Beacham :-) I'm very proud and privileged to do what I do
