Fri-Yay so proud of my friend and (midwife at my sons birth Jude in 2012) CLEMMIE HOOPER aka mother_of_daughters
her book is amaze and so down to earth and modern , here our review - perfect for PARENT TONIC mamas and papas
How to Grow a Baby and Push It Out is a new guide to pregnancy from midwife and Instagram superstar Clemmie Hooper aka .
As well as the obligatory ‘your baby is now the size of an artichoke’ the book feels like a relaxed chat with a mate rather than a cold plastic implement stuck up your hoo ha. It’s non-preachy, non judge-y and isn’t trying to replace medical advice from your regular midwife.
If you follow Clemmie on Instagram (and with over 200,000 followers, you probably do), you know she’s pretty funny and the book stays true to her tone of voice (dare we say ‘brand’) and covers topics like easing the dreaded morning sickness, how to survive the office party or wedding when you aren’t quite 12 weeks and not ready to start telling people, plus useful tips on choosing where to give birth, coming to terms with and dressing your new, larger body pre and possibly post-baby and the rollercoaster that is breastfeeding.
Clemmie has based this book on over ten years of experience as midwife and that shines through in the practical advice she gives. If you’ve got a question related to pregnancy and/or birth (including what is and how to do perineal massage and whether you’ll ever have s*x again), she covers it in How to Grow a Baby and Push it Out.
If you are pregnant or thinking about becoming it, you’re going to want to get a hold of this book. You'll probably devour it when you first get it and constantly refer back during your 40 weeks of pregnancy and again after you've given birth, for reassurance that looking and feeling the way you do is perfectly normal.
