Blanketry (noun) the collective noun for soft and cosy blankets, necessary to achieve hygge during the winter months.

Here we are at the beginning of February. We’re starting to see more daylight hours and the situation looks a little less dire than it did in the middle of January.

A friend recently posted photos of her attempts to create hygge, that Scandi feeling of coziness. She had soft lights, candles and twinkly lights, but the scene lacked blanketry! If you’re going to be cosy, blankets are essential to that.

So if you’re watching the tv tonight and need some hygge - reach for blanketry! You’ll thank me tomorrow 💜

My little studio is open again and I’m taking Reiki bookings on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays 🗓️

As it’s chilly, I’m making good use of the heated blanket - so you’ll always be warm enough (even on really cold days!)

😌 My appointment book is now closed until January.

💕 You will able to book Distance Reiki healings from the beginning of next month, but face to face appointments will depend on how fast I recover from the surgery I’m having on Monday. Hopefully it will be an easy recovery and you can bet that I’ll be giving myself some Reiki healing before and after!

Next week is my last one for completing face to face appointments until after the new year. I have availability on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at the moment.

I’m getting a bit of surgery just before Christmas, and I don’t know how quickly I’ll recover from that, so I’ll keep my appointments diary closed to anything other than distance Reiki bookings until I’m back to full strength.

It’s getting nippy out there! So I think it’s finally time, after quite a warm summer, to break out the heated blanket! My clients this week will be the first to benefit from a touch of cosy comfort 💕

🥰 This week I welcomed a lovely new client.🥰

The first session always takes a bit longer than the rest and I like to have a chat before we start, just to see how things are going. It helps me to centre in on where possible blockages might exist.

🌺 My new client and I chatted for a long time, and I think they might have been a bit worried that they'd overstayed their welcome because the following day I arrived to two plant pots to brighten my door, and a thank you card. It really was the best start to the day, and I was left a bit tearful! 🌺

💜For me, providing a Reiki healing isn't just about lying you down and waving my hands around! It's so much more than that. For me, as a practitioner, it's as much about listening and reassuring - so your hour long session might last an hour and a half and that's absolutely fine. 💜

Sometimes the biggest healing takes place in talking things through.

I’ve just spent the weekend hosting my venue for a local art and crafts trail and quite a few people noticed that I also practiced Reiki and I was asked about it.

First off, they were surprised that I held the sessions in my little studio, which I can understand considering how packed full of artiness it was!

The truth is that I’ve got transforming the studio into a peaceful, healing place down to a fine art. With very little time and effort it becomes a little oasis of calm. I don’t ask you to climb onto a therapy bed, instead I make use of a recliner chair. This allows you to relax and me space to move around you. And the music, which I was complimented on time after time, is carefully selected to enhance that feeling of relaxation.

I’ve been away this week; doing some self-care, relaxation and travel. I’ll be back next week nicely recharged.

I try not to have too many goals when I go away. I’m flexible enough to stop and do whatever I need when the need arises. Squeezing self-care into a slot doesn’t always make it relaxing or effective.
