Social Security Scotland has lots of good resources so worth a look! Their latest post is about young carers grant so if you know of someone who may be eligible let them know 😁

Do you know someone aged 16 to 18 who is caring for someone for 16 hours a week on average?

They might be eligible for Young Carer Grant - £390.25 to spend on anything they want!

It's available on an annual basis so if they got the payment a year ago, and still care for someone, don't forget to encourage them to apply again.

If you are stuck for ideas for things to do over the summer holidays the Learning Link are offering some family learning sessions which sound great 😃

Our Learning Link team are holding family learning sessions as part of our Summer Holiday Programme this year. The will be based around; the body 💪, farming 🐏 and the science of food 🥗. Taking place on 9, 23 July and 13 August respectively with sessions at 10am and 1.30pm.

We held drop in sessions in the Academy and KGS with the theme being around sugar content and the importance of brushing teeth!

Karyn from Dental joined us and we provided healthy snacks and toothbrushes to those who wanted them!

It was so good to see that most of the young people we spoke with had seen a dentist in the last year,keep up the good work!!

Today is World Autism Awareness Day. The School Health team always promote inclusivity with everything we do.

Support Worker Lorna has recently completed an Understanding Autism course to aid our understanding and how best we can help those with Autism.

There's lots of places locally you can reach out to for support including your GP, Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language and your child's education setting. There's also a wealth of information and support available online.
