Therapy tip for the weekend 🧠

Limit phone (and other screen/tech use).

You can do this in a variety of ways depending on what YOU feel fits for your needs.

✨Put all your apps in a folder on your phone and make more steps to have to find the app on your home screens.

✨Remove socials from your phone and only use desktop versions.

✨ Put your phone in a drawer for the day

✨ Change your phone settings so that notifications only come through during specific times, or only specific people can ring you for emergencies. Or if you REALLY need a break then out your phone on airplane mode if you want to give yourself some much needed space.

✨ Explore what boundaries you feel would be wise for screen time and media use (of all kinds). Then begin to take steps to implement this. You may for example have a basic phone for weekends that people can call you on if needed.

✨ Return to the good old days with a basic 'dumbphone'.

✨ Set a timer and then when it alarms, you know that's time to out the phone (or other piece of media or tech) down!

There are many ways we can adjust our boundaries and engagement with the things that not only drain us via blue lights, but also feed up a constant stream of information to process. It has made our lives much more complex, in ways we don't fully acknowledge.

Taking time away from social media and technology devices will show you if you have an addiction, reliance, and/or are having your mental health negatively affected.

Therapist Introduction ✨

ARE YOU READY TO BEGIN?

31/08/2025

Little note to say -

Whilst I've been absent from posting, I've been super focused on self care, and taking some steps towards a new business plan. This has been really important so that I can reach those in need of my services, and to make sure I'm well rested.

It's very important that therapists of all areas make sure they're taking good care of themselves and I noticed I had some adjustments to make. I'm really glad I've been practicing what I preach to clients and going with the flow of life's twists and turns!

I'm really excited to have new leaflets, events and content to share with you in the coming weeks. Late October will mark a whole year since I opened my therapy room, so keep an eye out for an exciting announcement... Or two!

Sometimes we keep ourselves stuck.

Our mindsets, and the beliefs, rules, or things we tell ourselves, are the very things that keep us in distress and difficulties. Quite often what led us these circumstances - some our fault, some not and to varying degrees- is what we have chosen. But even when it isn't our fault, we may start to choose it. To choose to keep ourselves in a distressing or defensive situation because we believe, or dictate that our reality is true, even if the evidence in front of us shows us where we might choose something different. Perhaps, the circumstances have changed and we are no longer needing to be in fear and survival or defensive fight modes.

When working with a client this week I had this image come to my mind. How the characters below are defensive or afraid of the situation. They truly believe that the snake is there to harm them. And Sure, the snake may have potential to cause harm. But in this image, the snake looks fed up and unwilling to be there in that situation too.

Imagine the snake is your outdated beliefs, rules, and mindsets. Perhaps your clinging onto them for dear life because it feels too scary to let them go. They've served their purpose to keep you alive, and to survive the situation (maybe the snake originally did try to hurt you but has given up- you won the battle!). Maybe your clinging to outdated versions of yourself, or past ways of living life, due to fear and need for control and predictability, but what you are ready for and what the situation needs NOW is to allow the snake to slither off into the bushes.
..And perhaps the snake lives in the bushes near you. But that doesn't mean it is there to harm you. Maybe you have learnt to manage the snakes nature. Maybe the snake is no longer interested or has any power over you. Perhaps the snake never did and it was all a self fulfilling prophecy due to traumas. Maybe the rules, beliefs and mindsets can exist in some other past version of you that is honours and acknowledged, but no longer has an active presence in your daily life.

Choose something new. Be brave. Let the snake go. Choose peace.

If you would like help to find the strength and the skills needed to let the snake go, you are welcome to book a FREE consultation to discuss how I might help you take this next step to a more favourable path in life.

When I first opened my flyer delivery, I was frustrated that I'd accidentally ordered the smaller size (A6) than preferred for my new leaflets. BUT I realised the silver lining is that these smaller ones could be given out to family, friends and clients who are happy to hold some for word of mouth referrals! If anyone is happy to have a few to share to local cafes far and wide (I have nationwide contacts), then I would be extremely grateful for the help 🙏🏻🌹✨

Once the correct order arrives, I'll be using those for networking and dropping through any areas I myself find and explore on my rounds.
