Is your child/ young person worried about their friend’s mental health?

Encouraging them to talk and to listen to their friend about what is going on for them can help them to feel supported and heard.

If they are worried and feel that their friend needs support, they can talk to you, a teacher, doctor or other trusted adults.

If their friend wants to talk to an adult but feels nervous, you could always encourage your child/ young person to go with them for support.

Is your child/ young person struggling with something? Feeling overwhelmed? They are not alone.

If they are aged 12–24 and live, work or study in West Surrey or North East Hampshire, they can access a free and confidential Youth Counselling Service.

They can talk to us about anything. They will speak, with a trained counsellor who will give them the time and space to talk things through.

The service is here to help to make sense of thoughts and feelings and support them in finding ways to cope and move forward.
