I understand that accessibility is important, and I want to make sure my treatment room is as comfortable and welcoming as possible for everyone.

My treatment room is located at the back of the house, there’s a small step up through French doors to enter.

The couch is electric and can be easily raised or lowered to ensure everyone can get on with ease. It can comfortably support individuals up to 200kg.

Why taking time for yourself matters

Life can feel non-stop — work, family, messages, to-do lists… it’s easy to put yourself right at the bottom. But here’s the truth:

You can’t pour from an empty cup.

Taking time out for you isn’t selfish — it’s essential.

When you slow down, even for a few minutes, you give your mind + body space to:
🧘‍♀️ Recharge your energy
💭 Clear your thoughts
😌 Reduce stress + overwhelm
💗 Reconnect with what truly matters

Time for yourself doesn’t have to be a spa day (though that’s nice too!). It can be:
☕ A quiet cup of tea
🚶‍♀️ A short walk
📖 Reading a few pages of a book
💅 Doing something small that makes you feel good

Remember — rest is productive too.

A client I have been working with has recently been advised they may have rheumatoid arthritis.

I always like to research conditions that my clients have to understand how my client may be affected and offer the best possible support.

Whilst researching rheumatoid arthritis I came across an interesting study that was conducted in 2018.

The study looked at the effects of reflexology on pain and sleep deprivation in patients with rheumatoid Arthritis.

It was a randomised controlled trial and included a total of 60 patients. It used a number of measures including a sociodemographic data form, the Pittsburgh sleep quality (PSQI) index and the visual analogue scale.

The results of this study showed that the experimental groups average pain was reduced by the six weeks of foot reflexology. The total PSQI (pain) score of the group was also lowered.

Sleep is so important as it helps to restore and repair our bodies and provides an opportunity for our brain to clear out and process the events of the day.
Just one night's bad sleep can make you feel low, emotional and grumpy the next day. If you consistently have poor quality sleep it increases the risk of experiencing anxiety and depression.
In 2019 research was conducted to systematically summarize and quantify the effects of foot reflexology on improvements in sleep disturbances 3928 participants were included in the study.
The conclusion of the study suggested that foot reflexology produced significant improvements in sleep disturbances and states that regularly receiving foot reflexology can help to improve the sleep quality of adults with sleep disturbances.

Can reflexology help treat (insert condition)? This is a question I often get asked.

As an ethical reflexologist, I always strive to provide honest, professional, and responsible care.

While many people experience incredible benefits (see my reviews on Fresha for examples of this), there simply aren’t enough large-scale research studies to scientifically prove its effects on specific conditions, hence why I can’t make specific claims about treating medical conditions. If I did the advertising standards agency would have something to say about that!!

Some therapists will make these claims but I would always recommend choosing a therapist who values transparency and honesty.

Off the Clock – Boy Mum Life

Being a boy mum to double digit boys is a bit like signing up for the most unpredictable rollercoaster ride.

There are the lows — teenage strops, eye-rolls that deserve awards, and endless arguments about screen time. Not to mention standing on the side lines at football matches in the pouring rain wondering why on earth I didn’t put a shot of Baileys in my coffee!

But then there are the highs — the pure joy when they achieve something they have worked hard for, the cuddles on the sofa when the day’s done, the bedtime snuggles, and the cheeky smiles that melt away the chaos.

It’s messy. It’s loud. It’s exhausting. I do complain, when they are loud and boisterous but I know how lucky i am and I wouldn't change it for the world!
