Call me old fashioned but….. maybe it’s brain fog or fear disguised by a false sense of moral superiority but I am lost tonight.

Ok I do embrace new technology and have dabbled a bit with AI but tonight’s challenge in Matt Halls challenge has wrapped me in circles.

Dear algorithm,
Show my content to an audience of midlife women who are looking for more fulfilment and who want to express themselves authentically without feeling the need to explain themselves.

Now if I could just remember my password…..

Yes this! lol
As well as my art therapy services and courses I am an artist and create a mix of expressive paintings inspired by nature and landscapes and abstract energising pieces.

Art is available to purchase from my etsy shop…. Message me with any questions

It’s called…..”My boss works from home on Monday”

Why does painting feel rebellious?

I’m sure some mindful breathing or stretching would be more acceptable and maybe less random than me suddenly (not so unexpected really) making art at my desk.

Making art is allowed …. And actively encouraged ….at any time when yer an art therapist and is perfect for processing complex thoughts feelings etc to build resilience and express what can not be expressed verbally.

Want to make more art but don’t know where to start? Sign up to my email newsletter A New PACE and a free ebook Art Heals will give you instant art ideas to use creativity for self care and healing.

MAKE YOUR MARK and EXPRESS YOURSELF

Not when you’re confident.
Not when you’ve got a 5‑year plan.
Now.
With shaky lines, half-finished ideas and tiny scraps of energy.

Every scribble is proof you were here, that you mattered, that today wasn’t just work and worry.

This is your permission slip to pick up a pen, brush or pencil and leave something of you behind.

02/01/2026

Literally grab yourself a pen or crayon or even a random old eye liner and make something!

Making art and being creative is great for mental health and an important part of self development and I am here to encourage you.

Start with something as small as a scribble or doodle or get your paints out and create something colourful.

Benefits include increased confidence and self esteem, more focus and energy and feeling of satisfaction and purpose.

What it’s like to work directly with me….. and what I feel is important in my work as an Art therapist.

I strive to meet people where they are and help them to express themselves authentically and process emotions and experiences at a pace that feels safe for them.

Spaces available on my one to one programmes for 2026 and you can choose to work with me for one month on the Creative R+R programme or 6 months on the Creative Illumination programme for a more sustained transformation.

Message me with any questions you have and enquiries and save this post for later.

Art as a way to cope with fibroids!

Art is a really empowering way to explore and express feelings when going through a difficult situation such as having a health condition like fibroids.

I would be doing myself a disservice if I didn’t allow myself to get creative and use art therapeutically when that is how I help

I look back at the situation I was in before and minimise it however when I see the art I remember the pain I was in. In February I will be 2 years post hysterectomy and 3 bouts of surgery completed for the pesky alien babies and other gynaecological issues.

To be able to make embodied art about the pain and distress and then transform it into something different felt like taking back come control when the situation was/is so uncertain and reminds me that I am more than this and will come out the other side stronger.
I encourage you to make art about your stuff, whatever is going on for yourself because through creativity you can reconnect with your truth beyond the labels and medical conditions and find new meanings in it all.

If you have a health condition that feels stressful and feels like it takes over your life it can be easy to feel lost but when you give yourself permission to make art then you allow your true you to return.

Remember you are more than your current circumstances.
